I travelled to my town on one of this festivities and was strolling and greeting friends along the way with my earpiece blasting P-square's Omoge mi till I got to the pathway that leads to our compound. I was about negotiating the bend when this guy I know quite well shoot off like a bullet almost knocking me flat on the ground, I managed to peep to know what's after him and there were really something after him, ...... policemen were after him. I didn't bother to count how many they are i just shoot off too and followed the guy by then they were already very close and had their hands around my shirt I manage to wriggle out of their grip, pull it off and throw it into the bush while I was running for my dear life.
By then the guy they were after was already short of breath and felt that since they are after me too he can take a break and catch his breathe. They got him on his shirt and trouser and were dragging him back to their van oblivious of the fact that my guy was unbuttoning his clothes. He managed to cut himself loose again and shoot off, they held the shirt it slipped from his body, the trouser is already at his ankle he lifted his leg and got it out and WAS FREEEEEEEE. He ran like a mo'fucker for his dear life. The policemen were amazed to what was happening to the extent that instead of chasing him they stood there for some seconds before bursting into fistful fits of laughter.
It WAS funny but wouldn't have been funny if they had caught him.
I witnessed from a VERY safe distance.
LMAO! u did well to run o my brother, coz if they had caught u, smh..... u for use ur eye see ur ears without mirror, I promise u that. Here in the east, there is a saying that goes like this " Voom ka mma karia statement".
My last ordeal with the police was when I went to a bar with my neighbour at about 6:30-7pm, they stormed the place claiming cultists were there having a meeting and that they came based on information which was a lie, coz that's how police now raid most joints where there are lots of people, on that evil evening I was really sick and my neighbour took me there to look around, so I ordered a bottle of room temperature water to have my meds which I bought on our way there, and then boom! Almost everyone scampered outta the place leaving just a few of us who couldn't escape the raid, my neighbour couldn't run and leave me behind so we both were arrested, Gosh! My brother, even the most notorious prostitute in the world has never experienced the kind of torture and trauma those devils in black put me through despite the fact that they could see I was sick, they delayed us at there station from that 7pm till 1am before we were told to write statements, and they insisted that I write down in my statement that I was picked up at midnight, I refused, bros come see slapping naaw, chai! I don suffer! I still proved stubborn o, I wrote the exact time I was arrested, then they dragged me into one on the cells after stripping me of my extra clothing, then the next morning, my neighbour bailed us out with 30k........ I will never forget that horrible evening.

Please please and please, when you are writing the statement, a beg u in the name of police. Keep your paragraphing skills at home. Write the whole statement without leaving any spaces between lines . dont try to keep paragraph spaces for police. To you they are paragraphs; but to the police they are free spaces to add their own salt and pepper to further implicate you. Can you see how I wrote this post? Just copy me. No spaces anywhere a beg.

Because that friend of yours doesn't know his right. I have succeeded to gain the respect of some of the police men in my area because i know even more than what they know. One tried to bite more than he can chew few days ago and landed himself into police cell for two days, he avoided my area for few days after his release cos he said it was a disgrace for a civilian to cause the detention of a policeman.
It's relative bro, depends on the situation, and how much money you have in your account, trust me.

I've gotten one over bad cops once or twice as well, but I know what I'm saying, Nigerian policemen are not your friend.

Nigerian Police...they're snakes! When my mum changed apartment to a new place, her former landlady came to arrest her because she still have in her former house her big 5000 litre kerosene tank. She has just moved barely 2 days and she had pleaded with the landlady to give her few more days. Luckily I was there when the police came and I followed them to the station. The officer said I should write a statement, I just gave him this snarl. He said I must write, I said No! that I am an illiterate, I can neither read nor write. He rained abuses and I gave him a piece of my mind too, tit-for-tat! At the end of the day, he said we should carry our stinginess and strong head comot from him station, before nko? Good riddance!

It will never be well with the criminal among the police force. If they gather all the stain money to build house feed their family it will turn to sorrow for them.

We can still make the changes, just find any DPA centre near you and your problems with the Police are solved cos the Nigerian Police are afraid of the name Barr. Emeka Ugwuonye of 'The Due Process Advocates'.

Op
you didn't remind us not ti waste their sheets.

They tell you to squeeze your writing.
Write two sentences on a space meant for one sentence.
They say, no paragraphs.
If possible they say no spacing.

Are all these instructions above supposed to be so?
Or na Buhari no provide stationeries (writing paper sheets) for police force?

It's like you look poor and troublesome.
lol...far from it. Don't know about now but that's what they do back then. From that junction at opebi all the way down to allen avenue(especially at alade market), they stop guys to "check" them and ask foolish questions.

The chasing part, I had an extension box and phone chargers in the bag so I didn't see any reason to be scared or anything (they are my stuffs). so I just walked past them like IDGAF ni.
Re: When Directed By The Police To Write A Statement: What You Should Know by Nobody: 10:27pm On Sep 17, 2016
They are the real criminals, they will arrest you without any offense, write statements that will incriminate you, extort you and dump you in cell for no just reason. The Nigerian Police needs a complete overhaul.
Re: When Directed By The Police To Write A Statement: What You Should Know by Aliucha: 10:33pm On Sep 17, 2016
You should always remember your constitutional right to personal liberty when asked to write a statement in the police. Section 35 subsection 2 of the Constitution provides that "Any person who is arrested or detained shall have the right to remain silent or Avoid answering any question until after consultation with a legal practitioner or any other person of his own choice". Remember the word "shall" above means must. If any police tries to force you to write a statement against your wish, just cite this section of the Constitution and you will be at a safe side. But don't forget to always call a lawyer on time. Cheers.

Somebody has answered your question above just search for it, the reason for not leaving a space and no-paragraphing is for your own good cos any Police man that wants to implicate you will squeeze something in that space and paragraph that you left

None of the above just that "the Due Process Group" taught me all the ways to handle some policemen and their illegalities. One good thing about the Nigerian Police is that the ASPs and above are educated, once you tell your IPO that you want to see the DPO or the Area commander, he will start treating you with respect cos their reason for arresting you will implicate them, to be on a safer side, just search for any DPA centre in your environment and the Police will respect you.
