My mother had an accident in 2005 when I was doing a diploma in the university. She broke her femur or laps bone and was taken to traditional bone healers were she spent more than two years without moving. On the third year she became curious of going even when the workers confirm that the bone is not fully joined. After she was released she return to the village to start her normal farming life, though she was warned not to stress herself but she did not hear. Few months later the bone pull off again and she said she will not go to that place again that if she goes there she might die because of the pain. So she walks with clutches. Note that the reason we could not take her to a good hospital that deals on bone was because of poverty and lack of financial backup . Fast forward today I have finished university with good results and through the mercy of God almighty I have secured one out of the best 3 jobs in Nigeria and within one year things have turned around in my family. Though I have provided every thing to make her life easy but each time I travel home I still feel so bad seeing her with clutches. I asked my friend a medical doctor if something can be done at her age and he told me to leave my mother alone because of her age. My mother is 72 years now but I still want to know if I can get that leg normal again? Is there any good hospital to do that? Please Doctors, anatomist and bone specialist in this forum can anything be done to my mother's leg at this her age because I can afford any treatment now..... Thanks in anticipation

I am not a bone expert, but since you said you are now financially capable taking her abroad for such a medical process could be safer and easily guarantee 100% healing

yes, my dear. If Buhari can get his bad ear cured, what stops your mum from being treated. Dat ur doc friend no be better person, what if d said person is his mum? pls look for good orthopaedic hospital wherever u are, lets start from there.

As a medical doctor my opinion
Orthopaedic (bone) surgeries are very risky. For elderly people because of the risk of deep vein thrombosis. You can google it.
You would have to sign serious consent forms and papers saying that You agree that the hospital and health personell will not be responsible liable for any complications or issues from the Surgery if She is to have surgery
An orthopaedic Surgeon Consultant is Your best bet to consult
