Believe it or not, those Awo comments are the GAME CHANGER on which that war was fiercely fought, executed, to the detriment of the easterners. Awo SUBTLY instigated the northern dominated army to use any means possible to ensure that the easterners didn't leave Nigeria. This is why the infamous food blockade was devise to kill defenseless civilians so as to cowed the biafran army to submission. I am not qualify to judge Awo on his actions or inactions during that war, but I believe that HIS CREATOR has the final judgement.

If the Eastern Region is allowed by acts of omission or commission to secede from or opt out of Nigeria, then the Western Region and Lagos must also stay out of the Federation......

Pls what part of that paragraph is confusing?

Also, was attacking Ore or bombing Lagos also a part of fighting for independence? Anyway you're right on one point; His creator and our creator has the final judgement

No history book recorded that the eastern army was stationed in Benin, Ore or Lagos before the declaration of the Eastern sovereignty. So they came to those areas to stop the advancement of the blood thirsty Nigerian army into the deep eastern civilian population area. War is not good. War cannot settle political differences. Peace is always the answer.

Nsukka and Garkem (in ogoja province) were the first towns to be attacked by the advancing Northern army after the war commenced on 6th July. Garkem fell on 12th July while Nsukka fell on 14th July. If you know your geography very well, where do you think any army will advance from to conquer those 2 towns?

The eastern army wasn't stationed in benin. After the fall of Nsukka and Garkem, the biafran army retaliated by pushing west into benin, then Ore. Ask yourself if that was the road to liberate Nsukka?

You are the one getting things twisted. Nigeria opened the theatre of war by bombing the border town of Gakem in Ogoja which was part of Biafra. By invading Biafra, Biafra was justified in invading any part of Nigeria including Bini, Ore and Lagos. There was no neutrality anywhere.
