Yes, i knew that already and i mentioned in my post that i didnt rub it. I even tried not to let anything touch it.
I just pray it goes down and the scar fades away

Pele. It happened to us too. The lump and scar was there for over 3 weeks but it went away and scar faded. And it was a private hospital so like LiftedHands said, hospital doesn't matter. Good thing you didn't massage it. Your LO will be fine

Is your child diagnosed as a Special Needs child? Does he/she fall under the category of celebral palsy, dyslexia, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactive disorder), or Down syndrome, to mention a few? Then you need Marigold School.
Set in a 'home away from home' boarding environment in Agege, Lagos, Marigold School offers educational and behavioral therapy training for special needs children in a quiet, serene and secure environment .
The school runs year long, with only breaks for the state, national and religious holidays, on a 3mthly basis.
Using Montessori methods, the children are taught basic skills, they attend physiotherapy classes, speech therapy classes, and where needed, are sent for ENT,and outfitted with hearing aids,fo those who need it.
Call or visit for your child's diagnosis and admission at anytime of the year. Ages for admission start from 3yrs to 13yrs.
Call 09055206656, and whatsapp 08180632132, 07067291837 for affordable prices and immediate admission.
If your child is special, then you need a special home for him/her. An early start ensures that your child lives as normal a life as possible.

I have battled with myself for almost a week, asking if I should share this with mothers here (and maybe spoil his business) or be quiet about this incident. At the end of the day, I decided it was best I share my experience and allow everyone decide what they want to do with the information shared. That way I would have satisfied my conscience.
I was one of those that signified interest in the books Kidco is selling. When I saw that some mamas in Rofemigwa’s group talked about the books being out of their kids’ age range, I decided to address that issue by ordering for my kids separate from the Abuja groups’, this I did because my kids ages range from 6-2, as such they have different reading needs.
I contacted Kidco, told him specifically what I wanted and the age range I wanted the books to span across. First of all, I never knew the books were not brand new or had been gently used. It was until I got them that I knew, anyway that was not a problem as only one had a page missing.
So, when I spoke with Kidco on whatsapp (anyone that wants my chat history with him can request for it, I will mail them to you), I told him I wanted some singing books, pop ups and character books for all 3 kids, he sent me pictures of those books and said they cost between 800 to 1000 Naira, I said it was not a problem, I would pay. When we were done with our transaction, I asked that he please send me pictures of the books before sending so that I would know what exactly I was getting, he promised to do that. However, the next day, when we spoke, he said he had forgotten to snap the books and that he was in a hurry to get the books to Lagos to be sent down to Abuja. In trust, I sent him his full money.
Imagine my shock when I got my stash of books and there were no character, singing or pop up books! I was upset and immediately reached out to Kidco, I told him I was not happy with the books I got because they were not what I had specifically requested and paid for. After a while, he responded, saying that he was busy and we would talk later. 3 hours later, he was yet to get back to me; again, I reached out to him to ask how I could get either a refund or replacements for the books. He said he would refund by the next week and tell me how to return his books.
I did not hear anything from him after that, so yesterday, I sent him a message to remind him that I was yet to hear from him. He read my chat and did not respond. I asked him why he was not responding, he replied that it would have been easier if I was in Lagos (well, I am not! Can’t help it).
I told him I was upset that he charged me for books he did not have and went ahead to send me something else. He asked if I was sure I was given the right books. I reminded him my books were clearly marked out and he had sent me a list of the books I was to receive. Since yesterday till now, Kidco has refused to respond to my messages. He gets them, reads them but does not reply them.
Like I stated earlier, the only reason why I brought this here is for others to be aware and be careful.
Going forward, I will suggest that for mothers that have not made their payments to Kidco to hold off on doing so. They may pay the money to the contact/pick up person, after they have received their books and are satisfied with their purchase, then she can send his money to him. Anybody with a better option can also suggest.

It may seem funny to you because it is not your money that has gone down the drain. You are very busy, but you were not too busy to respond to this as soon as you saw it, which you have refused to do constantly on whatsapp.

Did you or did you not send me pictures of singing and character books that you were going to send to me? Am I the one that costed the books? Did I at any time tell you how much I was willing to spend on the purchase of the books? If no, why are you now saying 14 books for 4600?

You told me the price for each of those special books, and I said no problem, do the costing and tell me the price.

I am getting angry all over again, which is not how I want my morning to go. My joy is that you did not say I lied in anything I wrote previously.

Good bye, have a great life.

Sorry

Please refund Maran1983 since she has said she doesn't want the books. Also, Maran1983, please mention here when you have sent all the books back to Kidco. CSS bookstores have a branch in Abuja and they also have a mix of new and gently used books. So you can see upfront what you're getting.

Kidco, you didn't tell anyone the books were second-hand until Rofemiguwa said so and you came here to state that it was just her pack and all other books were new after hers. I received the shipment of books you sent to me yesterday evening (it was actually for my sister's kids but she had me handle the purchase) and she and I were both surprised to see they weren't brand new and one even had pencil writings in it (the original owner had answered the questions). I wasn't very excited about the quality of books either and I personally feel that I will go to CSS bookshop and get some books in addition to yours. They may be more expensive but that's what I'm willing to get. However, in future please be very clear on what you're selling.

I'll screen grab the part where you mentioned on NL that the new shipment of books were new and I'll send a pic of the second-hand books.
It is a okay deal and the books serve their purpose still, for any mother wanting to go ahead but be clear: he is selling second-hand books.

As for shipping, may I suggest you use C.Tranex group? They charge the rates you are charging and are a professional company that schedule delivery, complete with Waybills. That way, everyone receives their orders on time with no issues. Almost all the companies that send out deliveries use them, as I have bought stuff online and they have handled the delivery for most of my goods. I have no affiliate with them.

Kidco, these are 2 of the books you sent yesterday. One had stickers removed and the other had pencilled answers to questions. My sis came alone to pick the books so her kids definitely didn't do it and mine can barely speak, talkless of write. Everyone, please judge whether that is a new or used book.

Just be clear: gently used books. Still works for its purpose.

Also, I lived in the U.S. with my aunt who spent decades teaching in the U.S. school system (in the D.C. METRO area). I know Half-Priced Books and all the websites to get these books. Do you want me to list them? I even used to go to The Strand bookshop to get gently used Enid Blytons for my little cousins (because U.S. kids don't read British authors and I wanted them to).
If you wish to keep defending the indefensible, go ahead. It's your business you're talking about and potential customers you may be alienating.

Just be clear: gently used books.

There is nothing wrong with the books per se and anyone who lives in Nigeria has most likely bought or is wearing something second-hand. I would laugh if anyone told me otherwise to my face.
I will still endorse him, as a viable option to those who don't want to spend N1500 or N2500 per book. As long as he now uses a better method of shipping because his current one isn't so effective and as long he tells them what type of books they are. In every business, there must be unsatisfied customers and it is dependent on the business owner to offer Customer Service. Which is what I would like him to do. That's all.

Kidco, that is the link for Tranex below:
http://tranex-ng.com they seem to be pretty good. So many businesses use them.

Please give Maran1983 a call, and firstly make apology for not getting back to her on time and refund her money and make arrangement for collecting the books. If I were you, since you didn't sent what she ordered for, I'd ask her to keep one book as a Sorry for messing up your order. You've made a profit here, you can afford to be nice to her. smiley Good Customer service is much more important than being right or even getting the product right.

I understand where you are coming from...I felt very bad when the books were delivered and it wasn't brand new. I contacted and told him it was not acceptable to me and explained to him the books were meant to be part of kids birthday party bags. There is no way I can give used books as souvenirs! He promised to replace with his new set which according to him is new. He said there was a mixup with that consignment. I came on here and said there were issues with the physical quality...I believe rofemiguwa, then said the books were not new but okay and no one complained- thus, assumed it was okay.
I got another set and lo, it wasn't new! I wasn't happy at all about this but for peace sake, and since other mamas were ok with it, I let go. The books definitely could not serve their purpose. I definitely, won't be patronizing him again. This doesn't mean it can serve a good purpose for other people, it is just a matter of one man's meat....
I will say this, don't even try the singing books if you are after physical quality. I can't use it for mine, cos books end up in their mouths- and I just can't imagine such in theirs- my personal thing. The pop up books were okay.
I left the books in Lagos- no point on heavy bags. So can donate to whoever wants and is in lag. My sis in law lives in Maryland.

Pele. It happened to us too. The lump and scar was there for over 3 weeks but it went away and scar faded. And it was a private hospital so like LiftedHands said, hospital doesn't matter. Good thing you didn't massage it. Your LO will be fine

Thanks a lot. Can't wait for it to fade off

Wow. And I was about to order for mine separately.

Any idea where to get brand new kid books on the island in Lagos?

By the way, we are done with our 10weeks immunization. LO didn't cry much unlike the 6weeks own. I'm praying he doesn't have high temperature too. Thanks everyone for your input yesterday.

Sorry about this. Send them back to Kidco, all of them, in the exact same condition in the same box, same number of books and get a refund. This is why he should have made it clear that they were gently used and not say "new" and tell us that our definition of new is different from his definition of new. You clearly cannot use as gifts. I believe Kidco assumed we all knew they weren't brand new (from his price). Which was wrong, he should have made it clear. We can still use the books but at least going forward, we all know what we are paying for.

For books in their mouth, I'd suggest wiping them down with an antibacterial wipe before giving them. Because to my reason, if we lived abroad we would use the Public Library System and those books would go through a lot of hands before it gets to us. So that is what I would do. However, this is Nigeria, with very rare public libraries.

Go to CSS Bookstore or order online from Kachifo books or Cassava Republic. They usually start from N1200 per book. There are some other stores but that's the general price range sha.

I thought Chicken pox season had passed. Or is it Measles?? Get Calamine lotion and is there anywhere he can stay, like with Grandma? For the time being until his infectious stage has passed. I think they pick it up in school

There is really nothing much you can do with chicken pox cos there is no specific treatment for it. All you can do is manage the pains/itch that comes with it. If there is pain give him paracetamol and calamine lotion to ease the itch.
It is highly infectious and my 1st line of thought will be protecting the little bae. Let him go stay with grandma or any relative till all blisters have crusted over. All will be well...
