I agree but there is something I dont understand about this country. I keep hearing that Kebbi, Anambra, Ebonyi, Kano, Benue states & others can individually feed the whole of Africa & they have been harvesting rice for months now yet a bag of local rice is still above 19,000 naira & are even scarce!! What is going on? Is this country a mirage?

Singapore buys lands in Africa to grow most of their food. Singapore imports most of their foods. Israel isn't sufficient in many agricultural products either.

Anambra State is 4,844 square km while Lagos State is 3,345 square km. Akampa LGA is 5,003 square km!...........Showing off ignorance when one can easily verify information through google is sickening! Your boldness really need to be laughed at!

Anambra state's take off was very bad, other states enrolled in this FG's initiative do not start with a meagre 4,000 farmers. Kebbi for example started with more than 70,000 farmers, Adamawa is about to register 120,000 farmers, plateau has registered 100,000 and Jigawa 50,000.

There are other states currently registering, none with less than 4,000 farmers.

I believe Anambra is bluffing. I will agree if the claim is about feeding Anambra only. Nigeria and Africa cannot be fed by one state with 4,000 rice farmers in just 8 local govts.

Once in a while assume other people are as competent as you, or even better.

Most of these farmers are rural dwellers, what the FG provides is what they'll use. None of the other states or Anambra is given any special treatment. Your assessment that what 4,000 anambrarians would achieve can dwarf other state's output from more men and more arable land is a wicked joke.

...as a result of sellers' greed. My opinion- when some of these sellers buy the local rice, they go ahead and rebag them in bags of foreign rice brands; Or the states are not telling us the truth about their 'riceholds'

Only downtown Seattle is 217 km2. The city of Seattle is 16,000Km2 . If you look up Tokyo or Los angeles,it would give you just the main business district which would be around 1000km2 , but the entire city of Los Angeles is around 50km2 and Tokyo is around 40,000km2 .
