MY EXPERIENCE WITH FRSC OFFICERS. The FRSC of of Osifila, Ajiboye, Njokwu and Okanlawon arrested my car at Gudugba along ifo/sango otta road, but to my utmost surprise they negotiated with me to pay them some bribe but I refused. As a result of this they were annoyed and said that my car must be impounded until I pay the sum of 15000 for route and vehicle licence violations. after booking me for the 15000 I summoned courage and taught payment to bank would be the solution, they suggested I pay to first bank or UBA. I then went to three different banks to quickly pay and retrieve my car the same day because I was on a journey to UCH Ibadan for medical checkup. On getting to the banks, I learnt the FRSC service site was having problem and without REMITA (TSA) PIN through the bank I cannot retrieve my car. Therefore I went back to the team who arrested me and explained what happened at the banks to them, then then advised that I go to their office at Agbado crossing which more than 30km away from their present location. At the FRSC office, Agbado Crossing, I met a staff who directed me to pay cash of 15000 to a senior staff. The officer demanded an extra 1000 for transport which I comply with her as a result of pressure. But to my surprise I was issued a receipt after two minutes of waiting without going to any bank. I immediately proceeded to the Ifo police station to retrieve my car so that I will not miss the UCH appointment. But to my surprise once again I was directed to the SO's office to collect my car key who demanded another 2000 from me before he could release my car key after all the payment evidence presented and I complied immediately so as to meet up with my appointment. The SO later said that the key is not with him and issued a release note to give the FRSC officers to collected my key.
As if that's not enough, I went to the FRSC officers at Gudugba and showed them the evidence of payment and note from the police but refused to release my key and told me to wait for them at the police station till they close for the day. I waited at the police till 5pm before they came back to attend to me since 8am that my car was arrested. I was therefore incapacitated to challenge their authority because they had already connived with the police officers so I relaxed by force till they returned. The police officers at the gate also demanded 1000 before I could drive out my car which I complied The questions are; what obstruct the FRSC site for TSA payment?; why should FRSC officers impoumd cars at the police station?; and why would the FRSC officers receive cash and connive with the police to extort and harass road users? This is bad. And must be checked if we really want Nigeria to move forward and want this administration to succeed.

FRSC have no specific or special payment/collections website/platform.

All federal govt agencies collections have been harmonized under the REMITA collection platform.

You can access Www.remita.com on line, select FRSC enter your details to generate RRR pin and even make payment instantly using ur ATM card. Or with the pin u can walk into any commercial bank and make payment.

REMITA is not restricted to those two banks they referred you to.

Its obvious FRSC and police have special arrangement with that particular bank/branch staffs to help frustrate your payment so you come back to them and give them cash in their office.

Its a new way of short changing the government.

The system is still very corrupt.
The civil service is messed up.
