Evening Nairalanders, please can I find an answer to this question here: why do military and paramilitary men say "Morning sir/Morning" when they want to salute their superior/subordinate/equal officer (and when it's not even morning)?

Hahahahaha it baffles me even drivers say it anytime they meet force men on the road. Even in the hot afternoon. I can't wait to hear the reason.

Because they don't use wrist watch.

The truth. I work as a paramilitary opt and I used to wonder why then our supervisor explained the reason just as u've pointed out

Because they are energetic and agile in the morning than in the afternoon. So to them "morning sir" is just a way to show that u are still agile and good to go.
