The earth being 6,000 years old was due to the meticulous calculations of ages and generational time frames by archbishop Asher but a logical explanation to this is that we are not the first on the earth. I draw my premise from retranslating Genesis from the original Hebrew. During retranslation I had this:
"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth became formless and desolate"

The Hebrew word rendered as "was" can also be translated as "became". So, we are probably not the first on earth and that the earth is 6,000 years old only came from the calculation based on our own time frame and not that of the pre-existent time frame.

In a literal sense, it would refer to a meteor shower but metaphorically, stars are used to refer to saints and falling from heaven to earth means backsliding.


Ps: It was Joshua and I believe the earth just stopped rotating but Joshua being primitive thought the sun stood still.

The Greek word, astayr, besides being translated "star" can also have the meaning "comet," "meteor" or "asteroid", since there is no Greek word having this meaning. Even our English language refers to meteorites as "falling stars." The description of the "star" Wormwood seems to be that of a large meteorite or comet
3. The text makes it clear that Sun "stopped in the middle of the sky".We still use phrases like the "Sun rose", "Sun set". There is no English (or Hebrew) phrase indicating that the earth rotates until the horizon covers the Sun. It was a supernatural event.

Well, my main point is that the bible was clear, when science negates some stuffs in the bible, intellectuals try to change the meaning to a metaphorical meaning, it has been happening since the time science became fastheld.

So it shows that the bible writers werent sure about these things or got the answers wrong, either ways, its really not a great proof for an intelligent creator in my humble opinion.

Then let me ask this question, why is God vague?, why are there many religions and not one?

Well, the earth's sudden pause in rotation would subject the earth to fast moving solar winds but if this were to be miraculous, then there would be no worries.

I could have told u just to shut up and watch lordnicklaus to learn how to debate but I guess ur case is one of honest ignorance. Let me help u out. Google out the oldest tree on earth, the oldest culture, and u would see they are order than 6,000 years. We have rocks of about 4 billion years old and u are saying it is just 6,000 years old if that were true, we would not have jumped from 2 to 6 billion people.

Conscience denotes feeling of guilt or joy. Have u not seen when a dog which is well trained eating a food it is not supposed to runs away when someone comes in or when it is happy when the master comes in our sense of conscience evolves with society eg our ancient women felt no guilt in walking topless but today our young girls feel guilt doing that. So is conscience installed or learnt

Solar winds is a long term problem sef. I'm talking about 1000 miles per hour winds ( a tornado is just 300mph), I'm talking about massive continent covering floods. So please explain.

I do not know about a pause in the rotational movement of the earth but I do know polar reversals or a sudden retrogade rotation of the earth has an effect such as the one you mentioned.

Joshua stopped the sun(or earth) long enough for him to finish a battle. So let's estimate this at Two hours maximum. If the earth stopped at all, we'd be destroyed by a 1000 mph wind. I doubt any structure on earth would survive such an assault. Its like you're on a fast moving car and it suddenly stops moving, the acceleration that pushes you forward is basically how the fast moving earth would work if it stopped.

It takes the earth approximately 6 hours to complete a sectorial angle of 90 degrees during its rotation at which towards half of that time, it is nearly not moving and still the earth hasn't been ravaged by such cataclysmic events.

God don't invent religion. Man invent religion. God created man for father and son relationship, after the fall of man, everything was lost, that is were religion come in.
