Lol...I didn't read zoology. Though i watch alot of Nat Geo Wild documentaries on tv but also relate to my immediate surroundings.

It's simply nature. Take the mother hen for instance, see how she jealously guides her chicks from harm's way with all her life. No matter how big you are as a human, if you do as much as passing where a mother hen is with her young, her feathers become spiked and she charges towards you. If another hen with her own chicks ventures close to her and the chick of the other hen mistakenly comes within her reach, she will maul it to death without even considering the fact that probably the 2 of them (the hens) were initially hatched from the same mother when they were young (nothing like sisterly love grin
