It is based on seniority my brother. It depends on the SE states to identify a few judges and start pushing them early through the ranks to the Supreme Court so that by d time he's there, he's young enough like mid-late 50's so that he/she stands a chance to clinch d office of CJN.

Very true! The Southerners were only interested in charge and bail + SAN while the Northerners went in for the most juicy part ...the bench. Check it out ...how many northerners are SAN compared to the rest of the country.

You can be a SAN all you want, heck you can even be a SAND. A judge has all the power while you have all the grammar

the post of CJN is for those that practise on d bench. While most northerners goes for d bench wherre d real power is, d southerners goes for d bar where d real money is, that is y we have more SANs from d south than from d north and more judges from d north than d south.
And appointment in law is always based on seniority.

She won't.... By seniority, the next person will be justice tanko Muhammad and Odili will retire around that time. After justice Tanko the next will be justice Kekere Ekun a female justice from South west

The man justice onnoghen is from my local. Govt in cross river state,he's a distant relative.am so happy for him.I forewaw his appointment.he's the most strict and incorruptible judge right now in nigeria.up apc,up buhari

oh that's worrying..... You're the opposite of Christ's teachings.

So people keep saying Northeners were smart by going for the power while Southerners went for the money...... So whose fault is that... Has anybody ever stoped the Southerners from going for the bench?... After all, The south is allegedly the most educated and literate part of the country so how come they didn't know the 'real' power was at the bench

Justice Walter Nkanu Onnoghen, only got this nomination because he is currently the most senior Justice of the Supreme Court. Indeed Northerners are d first class citizen.

How else does one become the CJN? You really shouldn't speak of things you know nothing about.
