Are Windows Phones Finally Dead And Gone? by donhils(op): 8:46am On Oct 07, 2016
Some months back I talked about how Windows OS was for Old people, those that are not really interested in technology, market men and women who are just after making and receiving calls.
Some Windows OS users came and blabbed and defended their boring, lazy, unintuitive and uninspiring platform called Windows phones.
Fast forward October 2016, things are even worse for that OS, hardly do I see real human beings using any phone with Windows logo on it. So my concerns this morning is, have those things finally become obsolete?

No windows phone is not dead but just experiencing transition time. Just like any Operating system that fills left behind. Have you ever imagine using the same version of applications in your desktop computers in your smartphone. If you have used a windows phone you will notice there are only two things to complain about the platform. The 1st on the list is lack of applications and better integration of applications with the OS. That is what windows 10 is for, and it's coming along with continuum. The lumia line may be dead but Microsoft New smartphone will be call surface Pro. Just like nexus and pixel smartphone from Google Android. Every OEM manufacturers is waiting to take advantage of windows10.

you sounded so knowledgeable in what you just wrote up there but, your write up is quite misleading to the public. Surface Pro is no anywhere near Microsoft any coming smartphone. In fact Microsoft surface Pro is not a phone as you assert and it has been into existence for long now as Microsoft hybrid tablets. So I don't know where you are getting that information that Microsoft New phones are coming as Surface Pro

It is not yet an official name. But this is what I have learnt from Microsoft called surface phone.

While it's struggling to flog its smartphones, Microsoft has at least had some success with its Surface line of tablets, so it's perhaps no surprise that speculation points to the firm dumping its Lumia branding altogether and launching a Surface-branded line of handsets.

Latest news
26/09/16: Microsoft has filed a patent for "fingerprint detection with transparent cover". Sources claim Microsoft has developed a fingerprint scanner that's integrated into a transparent sheet, thereby avoiding the bulk usually associated with a sensor module.

Release date
Early reports suggested that Microsoft's next smartphone will break cover before the year is out, while some rumours point to a launch in 2017.

There are arguments for both. An end of year release would capture the holiday market and serve as a counterpoint to big hardware releases from the likes of Apple and Samsung. However, waiting until next year would allow Microsoft to tie the handset into the rumoured Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2 launch.

If the 2016 launch is chosen, we'd expect Microsoft to hold a hardware event in October to announce the release.

Microsoft's Surface Phone reportedly will follow the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy smartphones with a high-end aluminium and magnesium unibody, the same combination favoured by Lenovo for the Ideapad 710S.

trash...
what nonsense is Real Human being?

is that how you insult people?
though I don't own a windows phone nor do I use it, but there's no doubt its a nice OS but unfortunately for it, the ecosystem doesn't like them maybe for their lack of much apps(unlike iOS and Android) and manufacturers not willing to put them on their devices.

unlike Windows, Android is free that's why every (Chinese)Tom, Dick and Harry now have their own Smartphone brand cos they just modify the OS and flash to their hardware, this is not same with Windows. iOS owned by Apple and only Apple alone manufacture phones(devices) that run iOS.

till then.
Microsoft surface pro are hybrid tablets-laptops.

even when released it won't be called surface pro cos there are devices already bearing that name which would cause confusion among buyers, of course this is not what Microsoft wants from the device that'll save her mobile section.
