CBN Restricts Forex Reserves Statistics To Sept. 17, 2015 by GBTYO(op): 2:19pm On Oct 07, 2016
The CBN of Nigeria had been keeping an online data archive of forex reserves movement that is easily accessible via their website going back as far back as 2011!

https://www.cbn.gov.ng/IntOps/Reserve.asp?MoveDate=10/7/2016%206:11:44%20AM

I had used the online service to debunk the gross lie that the Buhari administration had been peddling that they met an empty treasury.

Currently the CBN has only data as far back as September 17, 2015 available via the same link.

So why has the CBN decided to restrict public access to forex reserves movement to Sept, 2015?

I believe the reason the CBN limited forex movement data access to September is because we can easily see that as at Thursday 28th and Monday 1st June, 2015 Nigeria had a foreign reserve of well over $30bn.

I believe they stopped displaying this data because they know that their lies on meeting an empty treasury can easily be debunked with one click on the CBN website.

Dunce, majority of oil revenue that your afonja region never contributed to was used to float the naira and fund your parasitic region.

The aim of the thread is summarized by your post.
To get Buhari out.
Why would Buhari admin hide data that reflects activities that's took place mostly under the previous admin?

And how much did Buhari leave for IBB? And how much did Abacha, Buhari's boss, leave for OBJ? Did Naija start in 1999?

Yes. Since 1970 the nigerian currency has never been directly convertible in the intl market.

Fool.

Just early this year I accessed forex reserves as far back as 2011 and used the same site to debunk claims that Jonathan left an empty treasury.

So why has the CBN suddenly decided to remove all data entries prior to Sept 17, 2015?

Is it to support Paden's useless biography that buhari met an empty treasury?

Dunce

Lol... just imagine the resoning pattern of the person calling someone else a fool and a dunce....

I just checked the website and was able to dig up information on the foreign reserves back to 2014; liquid value of the reserves as at 2015 May 28th was about $29 billion... If you have a problem with your internet connection or you lack internet data, you should say so instead of making a pointless claim that CBN is hiding a detail which everyone already knows for whatever silly reason.

For an import over-dependent country of 170 million people, $29billion barely meets a 3 months import cover, only real dunces don't understand the implications of that meagre figure on our survival as a nation, hence only capital dunces find it strange when someone regards $29billion as empty treasury.

What arrant nonsense is this your postulation suppose to mean? Are we talking about meeting the enormous sharing of Dollars in APC's primary elections.

Obasanjo's met $3.5 billion and an oil output far lower than what Buhari saw.

Let me put some things straight, Obasanjo left CBN’s external reserves of $31.5 billion because there wasn't ridiculous defence of Naira like done by Mallam Sanusi until the adjustment to N197 after he was booted out.

[size=15pt]Buhari is the worst smooth criminal to ever rule Nigeria.

I hope Nigerians now see that some criminals can swear by anything to be honest when they enter government just to get your vote. As soon as they get there, all they feed you is lies upon lies to cover their looting just as those you voted them to replace did.

Nigeria's import bill (average monthly forex demand) has increased by over 1000% between 1999 and 2016 so if you have an idea what foreign reserves are used for, then you will realise that a $3.5bn reserve in 1999 was worth far more than $30bn reserve in 2016.

Regarding the defence of the Naira, are you by any means shifting blame this time to Sanusi Lamido for the inability of the last regime to shore up our reserves?... Wonderful!

...and by the way, where did you get that idea from that CBN only defended the naira under SLS during GEJ's time?.... are you saying Soludo didn't also defend the naira with billions of dollars under OBJ?

The habit of defending the Naira gulped $217B between 2002 and 2014(12years period). Leave the voodoo economist alone.

There is nothing left in the reserves. Goatluck Jonathan already shared ever dollar. imPatience Jonathan has over $30 million in her drivers', gardeners' and maids' accounts. So, which forex reserve are you talking about or are you saying Mama Piss reserves? Okay, if you are talking about Mama Piss reserves, then it is with Skye Bank and has been frozen by EFCC.

Now, let me remind you of this, NO Court, I repeat NO Court in Nigeria, Ecowas, AU or UN can order either EFCC, DSS or Buhari to give Mama Piss back the stolen money. So, if you want to wail more, you can continue, there is freedom of wailing. If any Judge anywhere in Nigeria gives any useless order that EFCC should give Mama Piss the stolen money, such a Judge will be arrested and locked up by DSS, I am sure you understand what I mean. Some Judges have already been arrested, more will be locked up in the coming days. A new Sherif is in town.
