Former Independent National Electoral Commission Chairman (INEC), Attahiru Jega has said that Nigeria's politicians become militants. Jega also condemned the country's politicians for treating politics just like a do-or-die affair. He made the comments on Saturday, October 8, through the 50th birthday celebration of All Progressives Congress (APC) Legal Adviser, Dr Muiz Banire. “INEC, being an election management body, faced perhaps its greatest challenge containing the predisposition and reckless mindset of Nigerian politicians. I frequently say that Nigeria includes a special breed of politicians – ‘militicians ',” Jega said based on Punch. “They generally tend to think that political power, through election, has to be captured and it has to be performed by hook or by crook; in the slightest necessary. For most, winning an election is literally a do-or-die affair. That's why the Nigerian political arena increasingly resembles a bloody battlefield with maiming, killing, burning, assassinations and unimaginable destruction of lives and property. “Navigating the minefield of do-or-die politicians as an impartial electoral umpire requires nerves of steel and requisite thick skin along with appropriate containment. click link for news: http://234news.com/2016/10/11/attahiru-jega-nigerian-politicians-behave-like-militants/

Nigerian politicians re worse than militants...That's why whenever they fight, kill, destroy, just to get there, they have little or nothing to show for, they re not credible... I believe that if you truly want to lead , and you re won in the election, there won't be any need to start going to court...one of the reasons why I still duff my cap for Goodluck Ebele Jonathan... His type is absolutely rare in Nigeria and Africa at large.. You can imagine the level of threats the current president issued previously before he became the president, does it show any sign of someone that has good intention for the people he wants to lead? I think we need to be recolonized and taught properly the rudiments of democracy and politics ! |

EnEnPeecee:Instead you should rather be proud of him as inec chairman he performed well. INEC family did fantastic job. A lot of thanks to the then president, the man of peace, the creator and initiator of free and fair election ever in nigeria. The humble man, the goodluck jonathan. |
