Leave the waterways filled with waterweed and ensure boats get clogged in it which will destroy their engines and make travelling on our waterways difficult....

This should be an all year round exercise as activities go on on our waterways all year round.
We shouldn't wait for the lagoon to get salty before we rid it of weeds.

When sensible and competent governments like Lagos state do great things like buying and deploying modern machinery to clean up the waterways, it is a bad thing and attempt to steal?

for where? those types of Hyacinth have high tolerance to salinity. That's the best option.

Water hyacinth disrupt waterways operations, disrupts waterways commerce, it destroys motorboat engines and paralyzes waterways economic activities and what you are suggesting means the state should look the other way for months while water hyacinth paralyzes the waterways, terminates economic activities and endanger human life on the waterways and even the state losing revenue via taxes on waterways commerce for months.


The state ignoring vital waterways for months is criminal, reckless, irresponsible and total abdication of responsibilities..

Who tell you? Salinity of the lagoon kills them quickly. We locally call it Lakua.

I agree with your points. Even reptiles like snakes comes with it. But b4 now, when it appears around this kind a time every season, salinity of the Lagoon around Feb is what always kills it

Yes they used to ignore because there was little or zero economic activities on the waterways, but hundreds of thousands of lagosians commutes to work and load and offload goods and services via the waterways today and the state is making IGR money off the waterways so apart from safety, there is more than enough incentives to make sure the waterways is unobstructed 24/4.

I was at the just concluded Nairobi International Trade Fair and was wowed by a firm that has stretched its minds when it comes to biogas production and utilization.

And also please, to our Nigerian people... for God's sake, stop SH|TTING and dumping trash in our waters
