The Osun Governor, Rauf Aregbesola Tuesday received the 41st Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji in the State House, Osogbo. The monarch who was accompanied by the Ibadan High Chiefs said the visit was long desired, in order to appreciate Governor Aregbesola's expression of embrace during his coronation March this year.

Good development. This shows the kind of respect and training the Yoruba man has for elders !!!

He is suppose to (dobale) lay flat on the floor. Bending was smuggled into the culture. It is not in the culture at all. One is not suppose to greet an elderly person by bending, talk less of an oba.

Where I come from, in Igboland, we wake our elders up with kicks and knocks. Respect is not commanded by age or name in Igboland. What commands respect in Alaigbo is money. How I wish we Igbos will also have good cultural manners like the Yorubas

Ogbeni is a good Muslim. Muslims only prostrate for God and Can only bend to greet elders even if it is your parents.
