Peps inflexibility is what is costing him. It's as simple as that. He got it wrong yesterday. Would it hurt to accept that?

How many times has City been there before? How did they play? Did they win? Were they not playing conservatively?
Yeah they lost but at least not this bad and their past meetings took place in the 2nd round and higher. In the past they lost because they were out played yesterday they lost because they made silly errors trying to play a style the other team were better at.

I strongy disagree with this bit

Origin of the 1st goal

Origin of the second goal

Origin of the 3rd

Can you please point out which one of these goals were cause by 'trying to play a style the other team were better at'?

As far as I can see, none of these mistakes came from attempting intricate passing moves.

last two of Messi came from a city player misplacing a pass to his team mate. To me they haven't quite mastered the art of passing the ball under pressure and to make things worse they met the masters of the style.

Look at the 2nd Gif for example. First guy passed to his mate and was quickly pressured by Barca players, fellow panicked and tried to quickly pass but he was dispossessed, am sure when he received the pass he had no immediate person in mind to pass to.

1st goal Fernandinho slipped
Red card Bravo handled the balloutside the box
2nd goal Debruyne passed to a Barca player who was almost infront of their box
3rd goal Gundogan passed to Suarez who was around City Box

Man save me this line of reasoning. What fueled all these errors? Y'all make it look as if City players were paid to commit those errors. City’s process of coming to terms with how their manager wants them to play creates an environment where mistakes are more likely, so the manager takes the blame.

Barca when off the ball are very good at closing down their opponents, If Pep was that pragmatic he would have thought about that and instructed his players to release the ball quick enough, but hell no, he's a big fan of ball retention and there he got served.

You can't blame KDB and Gundogan for passing to Barca players when they should have made a clearance, they were only playing to the gaffer's instruction.

When things go wrong, this is what a manager does/says:

Jose Mourinho concedes he has work to do to stop the individual errors he believes are costing Manchester United.

The Red Devils slipped to their third defeat in a week as Watford ran out deserving 3-1 winners in their Premier League meeting at Vicarage Road on Sunday.

Etienne Capoue put the Hornets ahead with his fourth of the season before Marcus Rashford equalised for United - only for substitute Camilo Zuniga to re-establish Watford's lead before captain Troy Deeney tucked away an injury-time penalty.

The result, coupled with derby defeat to Manchester City last weekend and Thursday night's Europa League loss to Feyenoord, means Mourinho has lost three successive games for the first time in over a decade.

And he knows he still has plenty to do to turn things around at Old Trafford, despite what was a promising start to his first season at the helm.

Asked if United's drop in form was worrying, Mourinho said: "My feeling is that it is not because we started the season very well with (winning) the Community Shield and three victories in a row in the Premier League.

"(That is) the best start that a new manager has had at Manchester United I think. But was I thinking that my team was ready, perfect, unbeatable? Not at all.

"I was completely aware that we were not perfect, with lots of players who are not end products and can make their own mistakes...I feel that some individuals probably feel the pressure and responsibility too much."

Luke Shaw was singled out by Mourinho, who was unhappy with the England international's positioning for Zuniga's strike, with the Portuguese admitting it is up to him to drill his approach into his squad.

"Their second goal is a mistake that goes against our plan and our training, because our intention was for their wing-backs to be pressed and not let them progress,"
he said.

(Nordin) Amrabat receives the ball and our left-back (Shaw) is 25 metres from him instead of five. Even at 25 you have to jump and go and press but no, we wait.

"This is a tactical but also a mental attitude. It's something that doesn't become perfect in a couple of weeks. So we have to improve, no doubt, individually and collectively. And that's my job."

What does it matter fella? Did they get a medal for losing 2-1, 3-1 that they missed on yesterday? So why are you pushing this agenda? So what if they lost 4-0?

The fact is, eventually, Pep with his style, will achieve much more with City than they would ever be able to match in their history - long term picture.

So what's the problem?
This one na your own talk. Don’t forget that man city were champions league semi-finalists last season and have won the league under both mancini and pellegrini.

Of course he could If he has the players. Which leads us to the next question does he have those players to sustain in the long run. Silva is 30, fernandinho and nolito is near that If I am not making a mistake, does he have a Messi - like figure to display raw talent and skills, hot strikers like Eto, henry, Villa etc, fast, attacking full backs to increase width like Abidal, zambrotta, Alves etc, technical and able defenders like puyol.?

I sincerely hope he suceeds though for the sake of Iheanacho and the Premier League and i hope Conte suceeds with us too. The standard and competitiveness(just like the Italian league of old) of EPL would be raised hopefully or the opposite could happen.

When you meet a stronger team you play to neutralise their strenght not try to out strenghten their strenght.

Gundongan wasn't even under pressure when he made that stoopid pass.

KDB had a very open passing lane to Kolarov in acres of space to his left.

Both chose to make ediotic decisions...which are uncharacteristic of them anyway.

Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool players salute The
Kop after a 2-2 draw with West Brom last
season
Reacting in such a manner to a point against
West Brom was derided by critics, yet Klopp
insisted that was merely a consequence of his
admiration for every team in the Premier League.
"The differences between the Premier League and
all the other leagues in world football is that
(there are) big individual qualities in all of
these teams," said Klopp. "I think we all know
the reason for it and that's the big difference.
"Nobody will go through and have at the end
120 points or something because there are a lot
of difficult hurdles to jump over and West Brom
is for sure one of them. They fight for every
point.
"I respect them all and I showed it last year
when we played West Brom. I celebrated the
point and it was a little bit surprising for most
of the people but I was happy.
Jurgen Klopp has backed goalkeeper Loris Karius
after criticism of his form at the start of his
Liverpool career.
"I don't know in this moment if I would
celebrate a draw again, it depends on the game
we play on Saturday. Everything's possible."
Klopp confirmed his Liverpool squad came through
Monday's goalless draw with Manchester United
unscathed.
Jurgen Klopp expects Georginio Wijnaldum to be
fit to face West Brom
Midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum returned to
training on Wednesday after missing the game
with a hamstring injury sustained while on
international duty.
Klopp said: "There is nothing to really moan
about. A few kicks and things like this in the
game, after the game, but nobody is ruled out
and Gini is on the way back.
"If nothing happens today or tomorrow, we have
a big squad."

All you mentioned up there are signs of an unblended team and was due to the off - ball marking of Barca meaning there was hardly no time to look around to release the ball to others you got to have a mental position of where your team mates are and Release quickly.

Garbage. What was the state of Barca before Pep got there? 2 back to back poor seasons finished the league 3rd 1points behind the eventual winners,

Pep came in sold Ronaldinho and Deco 3 of the leaders and 12 months later won the treble.

SHow me any manager who has done the equivalent in recent history
You mentioned those he sold but forgot the ones he bought. Your argument is not balanced.

The good thing is that he is in the EPL and we are watching him. He better wins the league or you are fired!

That was not a characteristic of any unblended team..those were simple brainfarts.

You could pack 10 men in the box, but fernandinho would fall down and give Messi a free chance at goal.

You could pack 10 men in the box and an errant kdb back pass would still open up a tightly packed defence.

These are errors that can happen independent of tactics.

So trying to qualify these individual errors as products of poor tactics is not on...especially when the players making these stupid errors are world class players that should actually know better.

When Jose beat Chelsea Jose Mourinho returns to Stamford Bridge for only the second time as an opposition manager when Manchester United face Chelsea on Super Sunday . Here, we recall how he knocked the Blues out of the Champions League on his way to lifting the trophy with Inter Milan in 2010. "Nothing special." That was how Jose Mourinho described the draw for the last 16 of the Champions League in December 2009, when Inter Milan were paired with his former club Chelsea. The Portuguese insisted he would treat the game like any other, but his attempts to downplay the occasion fell on deaf ears. It was a little over two years since his acrimonious departure from Stamford Bridge, and it would be his first trip back to the stadium he called home for three glorious seasons between 2004 and 2007, when he steered the Blues to two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups. It was a mouth-watering tie, and Mourinho's frosty relationship with Carlo Ancelotti only added to the spectacle. The pair had locked horns during Ancelotti's time in charge of Inter's rivals AC Milan in the previous season, and the lead-up to the first leg was dominated by talk of their rivalry. Just a few days previously, Mourinho had been fined and banned for three Serie A games after making handcuff gestures as two of his players were sent off during a goalless draw with Sampdoria. It was not the first time he had courted controversy since taking over at Inter, and his antagonistic behaviour was winning few friends outside of the club. Ancelotti insisted "the whole of Italy" would be cheering for Chelsea, and Italian newspaper La Repubblica carried a similar message: "Many hoped he would bring some maturity and culture to our football, but instead we are going backwards As the storm raged around their manager, however, Inter's players embraced the siege mentality. The Italian giants had drawn their previous three games in Serie A, but there was no sign of sluggishness when Chelsea came to the San Siro in February 2010. Just three minutes had passed when Diego Milito eluded John Terry and fired a low shot inside Petr Cech's near post. Mourinho nodded his head in satisfaction. It was a perfect start for Inter, but Chelsea equalised through Salomon Kalou early in the second half. Inter rallied quickly, though, with Esteban Cambiasso scoring what turned out to be the decisive goal just a few minutes later when he rifled home a diagonal shot after his original effort had been blocked by Branislav Ivanovic. Chelsea were left to rue what had looked like a clear penalty when Kalou was brought down by Walter Samuel before the break, but Inter celebrated their 2-1 win before Mourinho turned his attentions to the second leg at the stadium where he didn't lose a single league game between 2004 and 2007. "I will have to control my emotions there and be professional," Mourinho said. "I will go back to a different dressing room and dugout, but they will know that normally Mourinho is lucky at Stamford Bridge. I have nothing to prove to Chelsea, to Chelsea's players, to Chelsea's fans, to Chelsea's board. The relations are great. Will I be booed? I don't believe I will be. I will be clapped.'' Mourinho takes his seat in the away dugout before kick off Mourinho was afforded a warm welcome by Chelsea supporters, pausing to sign autographs on the sidelines before kick off, but the mood soured as soon as the action got underway. Mourinho was an animated figure on the touchline, engaging in a running feud with the fourth official as his side made their presence felt on the field. The hosts struggled to find a way through Inter's formidable backline of Maicon, Lucio, Samuel and Javier Zanetti, and tempers frayed with every niggling foul as Inter sought to slow the game down. Chelsea's best chances came in a frantic period before the break, with Nicolas Anelka going close and Didier Drogba denied a penalty when he appeared to be hauled down by Samuel. Mourinho relays instructions to Javier Zanetti and Esteban Cambiasso Mourinho's game plan centred around frustrating Ancelotti's side, but there was attacking intent too. Milito was flanked by Samuel Eto'o and Goran Pandev, who pinned back Chelsea's full- backs Ivanovic and Yuri Zhirkov and offered a considerable threat on the counter-attack. Inter looked increasingly menacing as the second half wore on, with Milito spurning a golden opportunity before Eto'o killed the tie with a clinical finish from Wesley Sneijder's pass 12 minutes from time. Chelsea's frustration boiled over when Drogba was sent off for a stamp on Motta. Mourinho had got his tactics just right. The former Chelsea manager revealed he had watched the first leg seven times in preparation for the return game, and Ancelotti admitted Inter were deserving winners.
"Tonight, [Chelsea's players] felt immediately that Inter were the best team and this brings frustration to great players," said Mourinho. "These are my players, my people but today I was the enemy and the enemy won. I celebrated a lot in the dressing room. It was a big victory for my team. I love Chelsea, I love this stadium, I love these people but I am a professional." Mourinho's career has taken twists and turns since that night, but he returns to Stamford Bridge on Super Sunday with another chance to make his point. Chelsea supporters will hope it doesn't evoke memories of the last time he took his seat in the away dugout. www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/10623772/when-jose-beat-chelsea

Let me ask you this.

Assuming you hadn't seen that clip before, and you saw only up to where KDB received the ball and someone asked you what would happen next...

Would you predict that:

A KDB turns and passes to Kolarov in space on his left
B KDB turns and passes the ball to Busquets on his right

This issue of releasing the ball quickly is where dribbling comes in. This is one of the reasons it is an important skills a midfielder or attacker should possess.
