Sexual or intercourse union is still a marital act. You don't have to be a legally married homosexual before the law is applicable to you. As long as you're a gay you get your jail term. Don't misquote the law.

Safari girl, the Nigerian Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act 2013, Section 5 (1) states that: "Any person who enters into a same sex marriage contract or a civil union commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a term of 14 years imprisonment.

Now, I'm not part of those calling for Chidimma's head. I think people should let the poor girl be but it's good we are clear on the contents of that Act.

Btw, nobody has shown me where an unmarried homosexual couple caught having sex were duly prosecuted. No Nigerian Law Report has carried any such prosecution for a reason.

The wise thing to do whenever a new law is enacted is to get a hard copy and study it critically. Ignorance of the Law they say, is no excuse.

The Act is quite explicit and the ambiguous terms were interpreted in section (7).
