Nigerian Societal Power: Perking Order by EdoBoy90(op):
The "perking order" of the society which is also known as the hierarchy of the society. Where do you belong in the society counts a lot. In this perking order of the society, there are powers that control the society especially in Nigeria as a nation. For you to succeed, you must belong to any of these powers that control the society. They are:
1) The Presidential Power: those that have the presidential power are the highest in the hierarchy of the society but this power changes when there is a change of government. When you find yourself here, anything you want you get it. Connections, contracts, slots, jobs etc are the benefits attached to the presidential power. The cabals are inclusive. There are just a few people in this category. They are the most powerful. This power phase out when a new government come in. They might not necessarily have the political power because not everybody is a politician but appointees or close to the power that be.
1) The Political Power: here, you have the politicians. They decide who should be the next president, governor, senator, rep, minister, commissioner etc or not. They are only concern of their interests. They are the godfathers. They are close to the presidential power because they have worked for the success of the government. When their interests are not met, they betray the presidential power. That is why we have power tussle in APC and PDP. When you are connected to any of this powerful politician in Nigeria, be rest assure any job you are looking for you will get it. They can easily propel you to greatest when you are loyal to them.
3) The Economic Power: here you have the business magnates. People like Alhaji Alico Dangote, Mr. Mike Adenuga, Chief Tony Elumelu, Chief Orji Kalu, Mr. Femi Otedola, Mrs. Alakija Folorunsho, Mr. Ifeanyi Ubah, Chief Raymond Dokpesi etc. They support any government that will favour their businesses. They only go into politics to have political power to protect their businesses. When you are connected to any of them, be rest assure that that job is yours. They control the economy of Nigeria.
4) The Military Power: Here they are divided into the Nigerian Army, Navy and Air force. In fact, most of the people who have ruled this country have military power. Military power coupled with presidential power make you more powerful than someone who only has presidential power. This is the best category to be. The generals are topping the country. Here is like an association. Permit me to call it the "highest confraternity" in Nigeria.
5) The Academic Power: here is where you have the intelligentsia in the society like the Nobel Laureate, professors, academia, scientists, engineers, managers, scholars etc.
6) The Masses Power: here, they are the electorates. They can propel you into presidential power. When you induce them, you get what you want. In a free society, they are the most powerful because they will decide your fate in any presidential, governorship or any other election. You must find yourself here before you can belong to any of the above power.
7) Royal Power: here, they are the traditional rulers, kings and royals. They have traditional influences. They are very powerful in our society. Their connections can open door for you. In Nigeria, we have the Sultan of Sokoto, The Emir of Kano, The Oba of Benin Kingdom, The Ooni of Ife, The Oba of Lagos, The Olubadan of Ibadan, The Otaru of Auchi (Edo State), The Ogieneni of Uzairue(Edo state), The Obi of Onitsha etc. They are very powerful. They have the royal blessings.
cool God Power: if you don't belong to God's power then you should forget about the rest. God's power is the ultimate of all. In God, we trust.

These are the powers that be in a country. Everyone wants to belong to the presidential power, economic power or political power especially those who have no military background.
Finally, always pray to God to elevate you and connect you with the right power. You need to occupy your territory as it is written in the Bible. There is always hope at the tunnel. God power is above all powers on earth. With God's power, you can aspire for the rest.

@OP, What of royal power wielded by our traditional rulers and other royals? For instance Sultan of Sokoto, Oba of Benin, etc.? Those guys have to be included in your hierarchy because in some places, their words are law.
