Reminds me of Nnamdi Azikwe, During the Biafran war, Azikiwe became a spokesman and an adviser to Ojukwu. He switched allegiance back to Nigeria during the heat of the war.

Ojukwu

Led his people to war escaped while millions died, After 13 years in exile, Nigeria under Shagari granted an official pardon to Ojukwu in 1982. Came back to join the same people you fought against in the ruling party, NPN
and later contested to rule the same Nigeria he attempted to break away from.

He contested as presidential candidate of APGA for the last three of the four elections but Igbos refuse to vote the man declared their hero and king.

FFK TO THE AFONJAS

https://www.nairaland.com/3390730/coming-realignment-in-yorubaland-femi-fani-kayode

"Yet let me be clear. I do not talk about a realignment of forces with cowards and quislings and neither am I proposing joining forces or closing ranks with those who have sold their souls to the devil, who have traded their heritage for a mess of pottage and who have decided to be perpetual slaves to the ultra-conservative feudalist hegemonist forces of the core north.

I do not refer to those who have decided to sell their erstwhile mentors, elders, betters and political leaders in the south-west down the river in return for being made a "super-Minister".

I do not refer to those that have consistently rejected the idea of restructuring our country or redefining the composition and nature of our union and who believe that all is well with the structure of our so-called federation.

I do not refer to those who believe that the entire south is simply a conquered territory or an enclave and appendage of the north.

I do not refer to those who have consistently rejected the concept of a handshake across the River Niger from the west with our Igbo and Niger Deltan brothers.

I do not refer to those that have consistently derided the idea of southern unity even if we may have had our differences in the past.

I do not refer to those who would rather go and pay homage to the powers that be in the core north than pay their respects to their southern brothers and sisters.

I do not refer to those who see nothing wrong with the activities of the Fulani herdsmen, who express joy whenever IPOB members are killed, who take pleasure in the military occupation of the Niger Delta and who refuse to acknowledge the challenges and horrific plight that the people of the Middle Belt and the northern minorities are facing.

I do not refer to those who align and identify with the Muslim north purely for religious and political reasons forgetting that Islam came to the south west through the Turkish traders 200 years before the 1804 jihad of Usman Dan Fodio and well before the establishment of the Fulani Caliphate.

I do not refer to those who are comfortable with the fact that they are looked down upon as Yoruba Muslims by their northern counterparts and who are pleased with the fact that they are not allowed to lead any northern Muslim in prayer in the mosques.

I do not refer to those who are posessed by the spirit of Absalom, who have decided to kill their fathers, who are committed to betraying the south west and who have offered themselves out as the "new alternative" of yoruba leaders that will become ever-ready puppets of an all-powerful core north. I need mention no names but they know who they are.

They include those that enjoy to watch and hear about the shaming, suffering and humiliation of their own southern kinsmen and brothers.

They include the unconscionable bastards, the house-niggers, the Uncle Toms, the lowest of the low and the scum of the earth. Men that have no dignity and no self-respect. Men that have no knowledge of history and that have lost their self-esteem. Men that are suffering from an acute sense of self-hatred and that wish they had not been born into their families or tribes.

Men that have lost their souls and that have submitted themselves and future generations of their families to perpetual servitude and slavery.

Quislings that are ready to trade in their daughters and wives for political favours and consideration from their new-found ethnic masters.

Animals that are ready to destroy the future of their own children and turn them into serfs and second-class citizens in return for a few crumbs from the masters table.

Such creatures are not welcome to the table of rapprochement or reconciliation. There can be no realignment with such beasts because there is no fellowship between light and darkness."

Chest-pounder, as far as this expired entity is concerned Igbos are not known for hypocrisy and duplicity but the loudmouthed and lousy Yorubas and their cotravellers.

Yorubas are so unstable that they can even deny their parents to score cheap political points.

Finding a reliable and trustworthy Yoruba person is like searching for a pin in a haystack.

In a post on his Facebook wall on Sunday, April 24, 2016, Mr. Okupe, who served Mr. Jonathan as a senior special assistant on public affairs, stated:
"Fielding Jonathan was a monumental mistake".
That the singular mistake made by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was the nomination of his boss for second term, despite the ample hint that that the north wanted power back at all cost.

This was the same Yoruba man that said if APC survives a year, he should be called a bastard.
The same person said over his dead body will Buhari rule Nigeria.

This a person GEJ trusted.

Deluded Afonja, would you like to be reminded of the Yoruba chest-beater, Benjamin Adekunle a.k.a the Black Scorpion?

Okay... During that 1967-70 civil war, the Yoruba braggart, Benjamin Adekunle a.k.a the Black Scorpion mocked the pope, Red Cross, Caritas, world council of churches, UN etc, and boasted of his killing spree on the Igbo civilians.

Benjamin Adekunle exploit was mainly in shooting defenceless Biafran civilians. HIs greed fooled him to kill Isaac Adaka Boro just to claim his exploits for himself.
Imagine backstabbing and killing someone who helped you in fighting to penetrate Biafra, just for selfish ends!
Without doubts your Benjamin Adekunle is a coward like the rest ass-lickers.

And how did his life end on earth?

He died a miserable contractor, he was literary begging for contracts just to feed.
This is a man that ranked higher than IBB, Danjuma, Obasanjo in his hay days in the military.
The Hausa-Fulanis used him to prosecute the unholy war on Igbos, and they dumped him after mission accomplished.

The bloody general was stripped off his military title; he was discharged dishonourably without his benefits. Till he died he never received a single pension from the Nigerian State.
The black scorpion ate his own excrement, begging Igbos to pay his medical bill to ease his pains until he chose death in 2014.

What a miserable life!

A typical Yoruba man will not cease to be unstable...

Read another eulogy on Ojukwu by another Yoruba man, Femi Adesina:

"In a piece I did last December, shortly after Ojukwu passed away, I said he was virtually pushed into war by the infidelity of the Federal side to the Aburi Accord. I still stand by that position. Ojukwu was called ‘warlord’ for many decades, but he was by no means a warmonger. He only did what he needed to do for his people–and for the country."

As his earthly remains are interred today, it is tragic that Nigeria is still submerged in the morass that Ojukwu already identified about 45 years ago. Today, bombs go off like firecrackers in the country. There is agitation for the review of the revenue allocation formula. There are strident calls for the convocation of a sovereign national conference. Even some component parts are threatening to pull out of the federation if anything happened to their ‘son’ who is now in power. Didn’t Ojukwu warn of these landmines ahead? Were all these issues not already settled at Aburi? Foremost journalist and media administrator, Akogun Tola Adeniyi, in a recent media interview, explained the Aburi Accord this way: “Let every region be semi-autonomous and develop at its own level.” Yes, that was the spirit and letter of Aburi, but which sadly became a road not taken. And is that not why we are still suffering today, living in a rickety and decrepit country that can burst at the seams any moment? I tell you, Ojukwu was a prophet, and like most prophets, he had no honour in his own country. Pity. But whether we like it or not, there’s no way we won’t return to Aburi. Willy-nilly. I only hope it will be sooner than later, before Nigeria goes to grief. On Aburi I stand.

Federal Government was perfidious and duplicitous on Aburi. It is still the same way today. That is why as Nigerians, we are most times disillusioned, dismayed, dispirited, dejected and depressed. When will change come to this land? Our hearts are getting weary.

Last December, I wrote that Ojukwu should be buried like a hero. I’m glad at the rites of passage so far, culminating in the interment today. Yes, bury him like a true hero. An icon, an avatar, deserves no less. This generation will surely not see another like Ojukwu. He fought not only for his own people, but for a true federation founded on justice, fair play, equity and rectitude. Unfortunately, he did not see the Nigeria of his dreams. Will we? Adieu the Ikemba, the Eze Igbo Gburugburu. May your soul rest in peace. Ka nkpur’obi gi zue ike n’adukwa.
