As someone who has watched Ice perform in his younger days, I believe that the guy hasn't lived up to his potentials.

He's incredibly talented, but it's almost as if he doesn't know whether he is a rapper or singer anymore. Hence, he sings rubbish all in a bid to appeal to everyone. Whoever taught him that strategy killed his game, big time.

I laughed the other day when I saw someone list him among Nigeria's most untalented musicians. It's like people who barely have knowledge of what they are writing about come up with shiit list just to sell. They can't tell a wack lyrics apart from lacking talent. Such a shame!

Ice is a guy of highly unusual talent who somehow, happened to lose his way. For what? I do not know.

I think, much like Skales, he wanted to commercialize. But instead, met his waterloo.

Funny enough, I thought even the ELI album doesn't do justice to his enormous talent. If you'd watch him perform when he was up and coming back in Jos then, you'd understand my drift.

Now his album release doesn't create as much excitement because the people are tired of the disappointment.

First time I saw him rap, I was like, what the... It was an unbelievable performance. Then I followed it up, still, he managed to keep the tempo. Then Oleku dropped, and I was like, that's Ice reaching his potential. Alas, he fell back down to earth rather too fast.

Those tracks you mentioned still remain some of the best he has released to this day. He is capable of so much more. But, I guess that's life.

Being a rapper requires a lot more. There should be creativity, delivery, and, a target audience. Rap doesn't really sell in this clime. He knew this from the beginning. So, I expected that he was going to have to just dig a bit deeper to reinvent. I did not envision the jettisoning. The people loved him for it. Why he changed it for something he barely even knows how to is what I still can't understand.

Guys like me consider Jesse a legend. He does not have to change to appeal.

My point is, he shouldn't even have attempted to become what the industry is looking for. Because..., the industry is basic!

This just brought back good memories! I loved Ice prince that year Shaa! I had the whole album in my Nokia C3 then! I always had long argument sessions with people that said he wasn't the best rapper in Africa
