I am neither yoruba nor Igbo but the truth is that Igbo men are extremely strong, hard headed, tough, resilient and defiant. Even the european slave masters had it in record that the igbo slaves were very stubborn.

But one thing i want the Igbo men to know is that physical strength and stubborness does not pay all the time. Sometimes you have to act like a 'coward' in a wise, cunning or diplomatic way to have what you want, just like the yorubas do.
I rather die by my word than be a 2faced man. cool

Ojukwu did not die, he took the most dishonorable and and most cowardly way out. He left his people, women and children to perish in a war he started! Do you even know the meaning of honor and dignity?
Read up a little on Yoruba history, in the olden days, war generals who lost a war would not bother to come back home, he will take his own life.
you are a big fool to say that.Ojukwu had concluded the plan to surrender but he did not want to do it himself so left it to his second.before Ojukwu left the war is already finished but he did not want to face the humiliation of surrendering that is why immediately he left Effiong his second arranged for the surrendering excise.Ojukwu was a brave man who fought till the end of the war and let his second to hands up. there is no Ojukwu mate in the whole of yorubat kingdom.

very childish, and also talks more than acting.

They always feel threatened by igbos, why ? Because they are jealous of our success.
Thats why they will die to marry an Igbo woman to get some of those powerful Igbo men gene and DNA in their children. Let me tell you a big secret, yoruba men in secretly wish they were Igbo men...A yoruba told me this.

How about FFK? He has really shown Igbo spirit while in detention.
Fayose too, he is conducting himself very well, making Igbos proud.
Don't forget Wole Soyinka, and Tai Solarin who went to jail for Biafra, and most of all Fajuyi---my idol of all times, who gave his life for something he strongly believed in.
Anyway the joke is noted, but we must put it in broader perspective!

Ojukwu didn't want to be humiliated so he ran away? I bet Philip Effiong did not mind being humiliated, not to talk of being tried for treason and shot.
Ojukwu was the most cowardly commander in chief ever.

I don't think you understand the dignity in being a man as Igbo men do. An Igbo man will rather die or take tactical exile option than to kneel down, cry and beg before a fellow military officer as did Diya.
These acts of shamefulness took hold in Ibadan on July 29, 1966. Gowon sat in Lagos while issuing orders to the soldiers of northern Nigeria indigenes to rough handle Agbekoya Parapo after northern elements of Nigerian army had killed the son of soil in Ibadan.

Wole Soyinka did not support Biafra. According to Soyinka himself, a group of Nigerian writers gathered and decided to send a representative to Biafra to try to convince their colleagues over there to drop the Biafran agenda. A northerner volunteered to go, but Soyinka objected to that, stating that it might not be safe for the northerner in Biafra. So, Soyinka chose to go. He recalled that he was being called a saboteur by some Biafran soldiers, but he was allowed to navigate his way to Enugu, where he met up with his good friend Christopher Okigbo. Of course, Okigbo was committed to the fulfillment of Biafra...Soyinka left Biafra and returned to Nigeria where he was arrested and thrown in jail. That was the extent of his involvement with Biafra, according to Soyinka.

Fajuyi was killed for his involvement in the Jan 15 "Igbo" coup. The northerners were aware of his involvement and he was marked for death. I believe Ademoyega, who was also involved in the same coup details Fajuyi's involvement in his book. Ironsi's ADC Lt. Nwankwo, who witnessed and survived the ordeal wrote about it and never even suggests any nonsense of Fajuyi insisting on dying with Ironsi. Northern officers involved in the execution have said no such thing either.

These are the facts, not fairy tales. Why people choose to console themselves with fallacies, I will never know.
