Nah...i just think we are wired differently - special. It's kind of funny though; ironically i'm quite a fearful person, but when it comes to watching really scary horror movies, i don't get that scared. Just a little though, because that's the real fun in horror - getting scared!

Same here! I'm not much of a fan of the bloody and body-mutilation types; find them kinda irritating. The Unborn is pretty scary though.

How do I feel when I watch a horror movie?

Firstly, as a horror freak, it's extremely rare for me to get frightened by a horror movie. I don't get the nerves over just any horror film.
Only few have the capacity to inspire emotions of terror in me.

From experience overtime, I dare say those concerned about paranormal, supernatural or bizarre events are the true definition of what unbridled horror encompasses.

However, the gory and gore types are interesting to watch at times, especially if the villain is the mysterious sort, or a serial killer, or a creepy stalker, or a complex mind-games enthusiast e.t.c and also if unsettling suspense is masterfully improvised, but the excitement is short-lived.

More to the point, when I feel the tension rising in the middle of a horror movie, the one that keep you on the edge of your seat to the very end, it initially sets my heart thumping in slow rhythmic contractions towards an anticipated violent clash, and as that clash tumbles towards the climax, my heart beats thunders rapidly as it gathers more momentum, filling my being with a kind of an explainable feverish excitement.

When I feel I can't manage it any further because my heart is almost exploding, I place my palm on my chest, inhale inwards and then let it all out slowly, look at my right and left in quick succession for any threat and then smile satisfactorily to myself.

The feeling is bliss!

But I must sound a note of warning, the feelings linger for long. You would definitely pay dearly for it after the end of that movie. Lol. Then as time and tide journey on, the feeling would fade away gradually.
