@aieromon, lazinny, mavinc4u, Bookiemart01 & dragnet et all, I thank you all for taking out time to counsel on the matter.

I am doubly appreciative considering that in my short memory, there was no pre-existing relationship between us to compel you to such.

Not everyone exchanges words same way u do.
The term Messiah is the inverter we have been waiting for & its not you. Shey dem package & send u from China wey I go dey expect you. Mtcheew
Since you say u don't know the cost but u can still calculate it well you made a little error its 184lbs @ 4.5$ & the exchange rate is #450 not the #420 you quoted yourself.
So feel free to arrange for your fully paid items as I can't hold them for any reason
Thanks for the clarification regarding the messiah. Please note that this thread started out with the shipper anonymous until I had to call you out to remain credible.

You give me only two choices: either I go for peace and bear the loss 100% or I use other means to make sure we both bear the loss with the third party being the winner in terms of profit. Due to fear of Jehovah its not an easy choice especially considering what is obtainable in my location. I pray my God softens your heart to be more reasonable and fair.

Regarding the TV and others, I would prefer we stick to the original plan of you sending it via the previously agreed route while I pay for the logistics for it even though I suspect the price will be inflated now.

As I said I won't move those stuffs an inch beyond any park of your choice as far as you can provide someone to come pick it up for you & verify the TV screen is solid so you won't come back saying it got broken when I sent it & I'll have to bear damages.
For our hilux to be used to transport it down to Warri is a NO NO. Its December & we have our hands full so make we dey run our Lagos jejely.
My best advice get a friend who has a combi bus & fuel his bus & provide emolument cox at the end if that screen gets broken cox of the way all this transport coy handles goods your case is OYO especially if you don't add insurance to it.
As per the choices I gave you its the flint of your imaginationinverter ems eroded with perceived thinking & let's assume its that way have you exhausted all means of resolving it before u draw out blood?
Thank God its not our first transaction & you can bear witness if I don't have anything @ least I have listening ears & empathy but as I've told you since you are the first to draw blood without counting your losses then prepare well cox by sunday my own time will come as well so enjoy your own grace period or do u know Ao long it took before u paid for the last one? Have I ever asked for demurrage? There are those I even give their goods to & collect shipping fee from them later just to ease off stress so if you are not the type trying to play smart you should know that.
You have paid fully for all items except inverter & the other means you used is your worst mistake & I hope you learn from it in the future cox those who know me well know I'm not for the other means but if you bring that side of me out you will see the devil advocate.

Gentlemen, please lets settle everything amicably, mistakes has been made already so this To and fro comments will not lead us any where.

@ 44chux, please change the incompetence in the subject to mistake. Also try and calm down because if you guys didn't settle this amicably and you decide to leave him for another shipper, do you know what awaits you there? you might miss all the good things he has been doing for you while you are with him and when look back you will wish that what happened today never happened.

@infinitikoncept, please try and forgive and move on. people can say any thing in this recession as long as it concerns money grin. If you succeed with the Sunday ultimatum then time shall come when you will miss 44chux in your business and wished you never took the earlier decision. At times is not good to make decisions when you are angry or even over happy. Just calm down and you guys will sort it out.

In life when you weigh the good and bad side of someone and if his good side supersedes his bad side then you should let any issue you have with that person go.

you guys should leave the blame and bury the hatchet then come to a compromise. Don't let all our communal effort be in vain.

Following your good-hearted advice and my God's grace, infinitykoncept decided to shave off ₦100k from the total bill of ₦372k.
Further to that, he, seeing that I already picked up the TV and associate consignment the previous day, volunteered to waybill the inverter to me free of any encumberance. All outstanding monies were paid this morning.

Great many thanks to all who in one way or the other contributed.

Just seeing this.
Its good to know this issue was resolved amicably, I'd like to weight in non the less.

First off, Mr infinitikocept for someone who obviously considers himself a serious businessman your reaction is quite rash. What you're telling prospective customers basically is.. If we do bussiness and an altercation or disagreement occurs I go change am for you. Which means as a customer i cannot trust you to put my interest first. If you don't understand the importance and tact of placating an irate customer, especially one who has a good reason to be irate, then your customer service is D.O.A . Any good C.E.O knows this.
A costumer can be abusive and aggressive under certain circumstances, it is your responsibility to calmly defuse the situation.

Now to the technicalities of the disagreement. In all honesty before any just law court or arbitration party, 44chux is completely absolvable of any blame.

Why?

This is his defence:
Your documented exchange point to the following facts:
-He clearly requested Sea freight for said item
-you agreed to the said means of shipping and billed him accordingly.
- you in no way indicated or intimated him with a change in prior agreement, neither did he consent to any.

And your defence is:
- you forgot
- He did not remind you

Clearly that argument holds little water. Because it is neither his fault that you forgot, nor is it his responsibility to remind you.
The way i see it, likely scenario was that your guys at the US end shipped the stuff without knowledge of your seafreight agreement with 44chux, and when you discovered, it was too late. Although to be fair to you, the system you operate makes things a lil difficult for you.

The forwarding company i use runs off an automated system that has your Name and email as a root for every registered customer to which every other thing is tied. You dont even need to notify them of a shipment. Once an item is received the tracking and package information is immediately inputed into thier system and then registered into the account of the owner. In the case where you want to leave specific instructions for a particular package, you simply send details and tracking number via the email address they have on file for you.Once the package arrives and tracking number is entered into thier system. they see your pending instruction. Even the invoice is generated automatically and sent to your email once shipment is despatched.
You should explore such an option going forward.

I truly understand that the amount in question is large and would obviously be difficult for you to shoulder alone. But holding goods paid for to ransom and engaging him verbally wasnt smart.

I ship items interstate to customers too and on occasions where I don't have time to check breakable items before despatch or i didn't remember to ask the client to inspect at pickup point before leaving. I have had to replace goods at no cost to the customer, even though i know it could have been broken/damaged during installation. Just for the sake of peace and a cordial relationship.

Would you be kind enough as to share the details of this forwarding company you use?

Information is power you know, and having multiple options can be bliss.

Lol, trust me. I'm not sure they even know I exist.
Its a big company, But they don't seem to care much for thier website.

Just contact them and tell them what you need. You'll be required to present some proof of identity and complete some forms like that. They do this so that random people don't ship stolen/fraudulent items to them and all that.
