It was not Ambode that cancelled the monthly environmental sanitation exercise, it was the courts. The appeal court earlier this month declared the forced sanitation illegal and against the constitutionally guaranteed rights to free movement. This was after Fashola lost the same case at the high court a few years ago. It would have been foolish for Ambode to challenge the appeal court's decision at the supreme court.

You cannot place restrictions on citizens because you want them to sweep and clean gutters in one day of the month, just like you cannot impose on citizens when to take a bath. You can only enact laws to punish citizens who litter their surroundings or dwell in filthy surroundings.
As we dey forcefully abide, they were and are clearing d purse.

There is no enivronmental sanitation day in Japan, Germany, England, switzerland, Estonia, Brussels, Latvia, etc and these countries are relatively clean. Why do you think that is?

My local government is in Chatham County. But that is beside the point. Why do you apes like to compare yourselves with horrible things rather than what normal countries and people are doing? It beats the imagination i swear. Ever since i was able to think for myself, i was taught that to get and become better in whatever i endeavor to do, i should imitate what normal people do. In you all's case, it is the opposite. Why na?
Re: Lagos Cancels Monthly Environmental Sanitation Officially by caniva(m): 10:08pm On Nov 23, 2016
It's better...let's the govt of lagos use local environmental officials in exercising her sovereignty as a state to enforce sanitation and cleanliness.

Re: Lagos Cancels Monthly Environmental Sanitation Officially by Morikaih: 10:27pm On Nov 23, 2016
My Opinion: This is not Good at all because the essence of the sanitation is to put the habit of cleanliness in our head as Africans/
people are saying its a welcome development either because its not happening in other states outside Nigeria but all forgotten we are dirty in Nigeria, we throw anything out of vehicles,we dump any refused anywhere even dump refuse in gutters that causes flood,
i wonder how Lagos would look like in next 6months

But am very sure Ambode is coming up with his plan of oldies ,Wolewole abi wetin them dey call them ,Then people will arrested and houses too will be locked because of same cleanliness

Nobody should come to this forum and blame Ambode oooo , Even the courts environments are dirty
Re: Lagos Cancels Monthly Environmental Sanitation Officially by Emassive(m): 10:33pm On Nov 23, 2016

We know Osus are responsible for the dirty sites in Lagos.

See the pictures of Lagos in 1950s before epidemic of Igbos

Can you see how neat and organized the roads were? Because of one Nigeria, we allowed you people in, and you littered almost everywhere
