Senators from the Southeast under the aegis of the Southeast caucus have called on the Federal Government to investigate the recent report by Amnesty International accusing security agencies in the country of killing 150 pro-Biafra agitators, The Punch reports.

The Chairman of the caucus, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, said this in a statement, in Abuja, on Thursday. Abaribe said, “It is not enough for the Nigeria military to debunk the report; we, as a caucus, demand an independent inquiry in the mould of a judicial panel and urgently too.

“It is our candid view that such a panel would reassure the Igbo that the Federal Government is alive to its responsibilities, one of which is the protection and respect of the fundamental rights of all people irrespective of tribe or religion.

“Unraveling the authenticity of the report would help to prevent a reoccurrence just as it will engender unity in our country. But the most important to us now is that the report must be probed and those implicated must be made to face justice.”

Fact is that Nigeria's political structure was skewed to such that if any southern politician is not talking about one Nigeria, the politician gets filtered off from the political process of Nigeria.
One SE governor was alleged to have said that the killing of the Bridget woman in Kano by Islamic extremists was done for Nigeria's unity.

You think this is just about Biafra? This is about the intergrity of your armed forces.

Open your eyes. It could be your brother, sister or loved one out on streets protesting about any issue from rigged elections, to increase in School fees to increase in fuel prices to economic downturn. If Soldiers can shoot peaceful Biafran protesters, they can shoot your loved ones protesting for any other reason too.

You're an immigrant refugee in Nigeria and think you have the right to talk about Nigeria issue.

If these Senators openly declare that they are pursuing this killings at The Hague, come see how those Military murderes and those that deployed them shall come begging for solutions.

The Military everywhere is authorised and approved by God for Righteous works. The main Trust of that righteous work is to protect "The Territorial Integrity of their Nations. So don't you ever expect a General Emeritus in charge of Nigeria to allow a stubborn fly like Biafra and a criminal setup like IPOB to stop him from making Heaven. Biafra, IPOB are like El Saksaky and his group from Iran blocking the passage of the Chief of Staff. Do you people even understand what I'm saying at all? When these guys face unarmed civilians they are ready to wreck havoc to show themselves. If the bolded is true it means that the Nigerian Army have just admitted that they killed those people unjustly. Now it's not all about BIAFRANS it's about the CONFIDENCE we as a people have in our force men.
