Hi. The methods above don't work. some flash drives are just crazY. You need to download the factory restore software. That's what I did. I forgot the URL but I have the software. its about 3mb.... Pm me if you need it and I will send to you. |

Check the flash drive for a button or switch at the side to turn off the write protection. |

hephzibah2015: I believe you referring to a micro SD card and adapter combination. If Yes, continue reading. The micro SD adapter has a write protect switch. Once this switch is in the lock (close) position, you will be unable to edit data on the SD card. You will only be allowed to read a SD card's content. If you try formatting the SD card you will get the "Disk write protected and can't be formatted" The write protect switch is located on the side of the SD adapter. You can check the side of the adapter to see a switch that can be toggled "up" or "down" To write to the SD card (or to successfully format the SD card) , you need to toggle the switch to the open position. You can detect the open position by just moving the switch to the opposite position from where it was when it says "Disk write protected... " Once in the open position you have access to Read and Write on the SD card. You can go on to format your flash drive.
