Hello all. I was driving to Owerri and on the road I saw over 12 already registered vehicles impounded by the custom officials who have a check point there. Can someone experienced tell me what to do if your car has no valid custom papers, Can the custom papers be gotten? Is there a legislation that protects innocent car owners who do not know they were given fake custom papers. Is there a fine to redeem impounded vehicles  or will a car be forfeited once it is impounded by customs officials for not having custom papers. NwamaziNwaAro:Be not dismayed. Ofcourse, there are always some custom officers who will want to take advantage of neophytes like yourself with shakara once you present them with your sworn affidavit. Don't even try to plead or quarrel with them unless you're willing to grease their palm. Leave your car with them, get a professional lawyer and sue them to court. Yaasin - if the Comptroller General of Customs (Hameed Ali) does not contact you directly, be rest assured that a DCG definitely will. Affidavit gini Ur vin can be used to pull off ur car info from the customs database Misplaced ur customs paper?...no problem They will just use ur vin to confirm from their office If it comes back negative......  58 Likes 1 Share |
