I want to solemnly beg conte to use a 4man defence against city,,, totham almost exploited our 3defenders till iva was brought in, they would have scored if they were clinical enough.... my heart virtually left its position, thank God we won,, but if we try 3defenders against city,, they will rape us... pls conte do d needful abeg 1 Like |

We conceded for the first time in 601 minutes and I'm honestly not surprised. Before this game, I stressed that this and the Citeh games are our biggest tests, given the fact that the two teams know how to press very well. And that with the right organisation is all you need to punish us. I'm glad we passed this stern test, but we must not forget that there is a sterner test ahead. A win or a draw at Etihad would see me kick-off the 'Chelsea-for-the-title' campaign. It might be too early though for such fantasies but fvck it, who is there to stop us? |

macjireh:I'm here to do the needful. It looked like Spuds were exploiting us cos they understood how our system works. Our formation is very strong against central attacks but can award space to the opposition down the flanks. Pochettino understood this and informed his boys to attack us via our weakest links. Good we came out clean with that albeit we had to concede a goal in the process. Against Citeh, we don't have to revert to any damned 4-man backline, that would be panicking. A system that has fetched you seven consecutive victories can't just go wrong in one day. Aguero is their biggest threat. He is the focal point of the team and I dread him like I dread fvcking a hoe without protection. So I would hope Luiz and co. do a yeoman job on that day. It is also important that one central midfielder gets to cover in the defensive spots if a central defender is sucked out side to pressure the ball. It would be interesting to see how the midfield battle goes. Wanyama almost had us sodomised today because he was afforded the space to play his game. We can't afford to present Gundogan and sons with such luxury. Kante and Matic must stay disciplined and focused to win this. We have been playing to our strength and I'm glad about that. The boys upfield are on fire and with Stones at Citeh's back, we can only hope to have our way. 1 Like |

macjireh:Abeg o, it was not easy playing against Spurs, for the fact that we survived and won, that defence tried, its more like 5 defenders cos Moses and Alonso track back to help out, we were able to contain Kane, Dele, Son to some extent....our defenders tried, most of their attempts were off target, they had 10 attempts in the first half, we had just 3 and the 3 were on target with a goal. I think we need an extra body in midfield or someone stronger to help Kante.... 1 Like |

Pochettino did a very simple job against us yesterday. He knew that the success of 3-4-3 was to Isolate the wing backs from the front 3 and also Breaking of communication our our front. Which he did very well. His problem started when they relaxed to allow us press them thereby giving moses and Alonso opportunity to link with our front 3. The only weak link I saw in his set up was Son because he is not a regular wing back. If we had noticed that Earlie, we would have won the game earlier in 1st half. That was what pochettino noticed and immediately did his first changing by removing Son.... Thank God his plans backfired ... In a 3-4-3. You don't give the wing backs chance because they are like the extra strikers when attacking and the extra defenders when defending.. 1 Like |

lordfalcao:Most guys complained about Alonso especially and wished for moses to be cloned. We still need someone better than Alonso on that side of the pitch or someone who can make him improve bcuz of competition. I am thinking we should bring Kennedy back or baba rahman if possible. |

diggz:to be honest we don't need those. We need someone that can attack a lot and defend a lot. In wingbacks. That's why we have moses and Iva on the right who can do it. But in the left we have Alonso who is not that decent in attack but good defending. We need a Marcelo like type of player in that left to support Alonso. I don't see baba rahman doing that kind job. |

diggz:Definitely not Baba Rahman! I've always suggested Kennedy because he has great pace, strength and can dribble very well too. But one thing i've noticed and likes about Alonso is his tendency to run into the opponents box and find himself in space to score. He had one decent attempt saved by Middlesbrough keeper last week. He missed another good chance yesterday. I don't know how he doeas it... but with his snail's pace, I keep wondering how he keeps up when we are attacking and tries to track back too when we defend. |
