Yes anybody can be established anywhere but simple things of life matter. Dangote lives in a mansion at home, drives new cars, burns fuel and endure noise pollution with health hazards that follows just to have steady power, water etc at home, worries about his security and investments at home and I live here in my 5bedroom home with all basic amenities at my disposal, sleep well at nights with no worries about my security or my litle investments here, drive new cars even before they get to dangote on good roads with less accident risk, have fast access to good healthcare before dangote private jet gets here for the same purpose. My brother, what's the difference between the two of us. Yes, his bank account is by far fatter but I enjoy the good life only dangote and his likes enjoy at home. If I were to be in NAIJA, my story won't go like this.

Imagine an average person on the street here drives 2016 car, what only the extremely rich folks do at home and you say oyiboland is not good. Brother travel (with proper document) and see.

I have traveled out of the country and my experience there chased me back home the struggle there is real ....u can invest here and make cool cash if u can handle your business well . most of the people that traveled out of the country just do it cos they want to see the snow and white people abroad ..most of them end up doing illegal business ... i can't count how many people i have helped in selling there properties just to travel out of the country , a no man's land ,is that not a gamble

We all need to start heeding the call and quit hiding behind the false security of "Being abroad"!! Most folks at home are making it and are not intimidated or threatened by their folks in the diaspora. The tables are turning,and the sooner we secure our place at home,the better. "Being abroad" is not the end all,be all!! Certain folks at home who've never ventured outside the country are thriving,surviving and well established.

Success is not measured by the material possessions you store up for yourself. At the end of the day we die and leave everything behind.

Those who are determined to be rich stab themselves with many pains. Daily bread should be sufficient for us.

Oyibos live a simple life that is why they live older than we do. Check out the life expectancy in Nigeria, 40-60years?

Living in diaspora doesn't mean you have access to all the dollars either is it a criteria to be rich. One good thing is having the ba 6sic amenities for lifes comfort.

If i find peace and tranquillity in a foreign land I am happy. The country I reside in has helped me and I payback via taxes.
You are soliciting for Nigerians in diaspora to return home and invest forgetting that those who built America, UK, Canada etc were not Americans in diaspora or Canadians in diaspora etc but rather those in the country.

The government assisted those with dreams to actualize it in reality. Unlike Nigeria were dreams die.

Look I cannot begin to educate you on what I am very sure you know well about. I know you are here to benefit yourself by selling your property / dwellings. There are better ways to approach it instead of pointing fingers at a group and undermining them just because they have not patronize you.

Our government has a lot to do in order to attract foreign investors. Those basic amenities should be put in place and see how investors will fight to enter the Nigerian market. The government need to scout for Nigerians who are professionals in what they do, entice them with offers they will say no to and when they return they can use thier expertise to develop and grow the economy.

Gone are the days when Africa should apologise for having problems – what country doesn’t? There obviously needs to be a more balanced approach and a shift away from the “crime & poverty porn” so regularly dished out on global media. But at the same time Africans should have the confidence to own both the good and bad stories. Being a Proud African is someone who celebrates both the highs and the lows. It’s not so black and white. I want u to understand that A homecomer brings back not only a wealth of global expertise, but also a true sense of purpose and willingness to make a difference. Homecoming Revolution’s clients are showcasing careers across all sectors: financial services, engineering & construction, IT, management consulting, retail, travel & tourism, agriculture, law, media & marketing, education & healthcare.

So finding a job back home shouldn’t be the sole ambition of a homecomer.

Yet it’s not so easy simply to come home and open a business. Apart from the red tape, there is also a gap between the homecomer’s previous understanding of the local community and what it is today.Below is our strenght and weakness

Strengths: Welcoming people, 60m people who need products & services, Huge opportunities for business, Vibrancy of the youth, Cash economy,
Weaknesses: Unnecessary complications, Traffic, Electricity, Things take a long time, Absence of social institutions, Narrow thinking
But i can't deny Nigeria Need a lot of work to be put in place but we are not that bad as u are thinking .

Off course Africa or rather Nigeria is rich fertile and untape. I still doesn't suit my area of investment.

Gold, Lead/Zinc, Limestone, Oil/Gas & Salt, Cassiterite, Clay, Dolomite, Marble & Tantalite, Uranium, COAL, OIL. The list goes on and on. Why should we lack power if we have uranium? Why is oil price high in a country that produces crude oil? Why is our roads bad or poorly built if we have coal? - is it because of Corruption?

I am not here to discourage anyone from investing in Nigeria, there are small businesses that can be done to help onesself and family. It's not the right time for me to invest in property market. When things are in place I will.

My home is where I find comfort. I am comfortable where I am. Let those making it back home keep buying all the property when better recession hit na them go beg me to come buy with my $$$.

Africans in diaspora must understand that a Lizard in US or UK can not suddenly become an Alligator in Nigeria or Kenya, just because their plane have just landed from NY or London!

The myth of the returnee is slowly dying. Competition is tough, and no one is expecting you, unless you have cash to flush.

If you are not a successful returnee (which means you don’t have a minimum of 100 000 dollars in disposable money), then your return here will be tough. People won’t respect you if you don’t have a big house and a big car, and if you could not pay for their meals and drink when they are hanging out with you.

The time of “small thing” is over. Everyone prays God, but the real king in town is Money, Big Money! It’s the ONLY thing people really Respect. You can keep your patriotism, panafricanism or activism for yourself.

If you are a returnee who have to compete with locals for job, business or attention, you’ll face an unspoken resentment of returnees, which will translate into many forms of ostracism or rejection.

People coming from human zoos (Europe, USA, etc) will be shocked because it’s not a zoo here. You have no one who is responsible for you, guard you, or give you a list of things not to eat or to drink. You have to constantly use 100% of your native survival instincts and trust them.

Very thrilling, but not for people who have grown up under neon lamps. You have to be ready to experience life out of the zoo net!

If you don’t have the guts and stamina, you better stay in the human zoo. Here it’s close to the jungle. There is no one to clean your ass, and the competition for resource is tough.

Yet, the thrill is real. For people who love freedom and challenge, and have the instinct for business, it’s the best place on earth to be now!

Yes, Africa is truly the best place on earth to live and die, regardless of above observations. The genuine laughter, the unscripted kindness, the holy impulsiveness is so boundless. If you want to see what is humanity before capitalism destroy it all, Come visit Africa.

We still have a lot of work to do to get rid of the illness tied to the old methods and mentalities which are holding Africa back. There are alternatives, but the old guard is still strong and forcefully defending the status quo.

Progress is slow, but change is on the way with a new generation of young africans who are hungrier and more impatient …a generation that realizes that it’s true potential is in its mind and in its hands, not in the checkbooks of foreign donors!

For Africans in the diaspora who don’t have money, one of the best approach is to return to their country for short periods and invest in understanding, meet people, work the paths, take notice, leave tracks, and wait for the moment!

If you could go over the shame of “un-success” in the West or abroad, and take small steps toward your return to Africa, you’ll be greatly rewarded after only a short period of time.
So my brother, for you to relocate, have no fears. Just plan, visit, re-plan, visit and alter your plan again … Also try to hedge your risks. Always have an Option B (even option C). Then ask questions too. Don’t relocate at same time with your family. Come in first. You can get a job first and with time you can decide to do other stuffs. But please don’t kid yourself, a sea of opportunities exist in this country called Nigeria and so many sectors are still either virgin or untapped. It’s not easy doing business, but it’s well worth taking a plunge, if you ask me. The decision is yours to make.” Shared a Nigerian who has successful returned.

No one could be respected or could ever claim ownership of a land he/she has not built, no matter the number of years he/she has lived there. Africans in the Diaspora have to come to build a place they could call Home.

Invest in Real Estate before traveling and come back to see what your investment has turn into . A land of 1million in 5 years will cost more than 20 million if u buy in a strategic place .
