Nairobi city. We are not going to slice it further than that. Lagos city has nothing on Nairobi city. Nairobi is an international city and i really don't care about the colour of a kenyan or kenya resident. If Lagos is village city - then no wonder it that shitty looking.

There is no way LAGOS can have bigger GDP than Nairobi except in stats cooked from Nigeria Stats Office that don't even have electricity grin grin how do they ran analysis there?

can you please tell me if these rates are collected from westland ,eastliegh, Parkland, CBD, Spring valley ,Ngara or from Kibera, mathare,Korogocho ,Mukuru,Mukuru, Kawangware , please this comparison should stop!!!, Kenya is too poor to compete with Ghana, a country where 90% of the real blacks leaves in slums while the Indians , the whites and the politicians leaves in Karen and the affluents places

Nigeria wealth is owned by Shell/total and the likes - with a few of corrupt Nigeria allies. Oil is your only sector of economy - well we can add entertainment for entertainment sake shocked & internet' irokotv - for the sake of it.Kenya economy is well diversified and sophisticated there is no way Indians or whites can dominate it.

but i have given proofs to support my motion, NNPC is the major owner of Nigeria Oil, NNPC is a state-owned company they owned more than 55% of shell companies and other oil companies alike , plus, you can never see shell filling stations and depots in Nigeria all what they do is exploration , most of the companies that manages Nigerians oil are Nigerians. believe me bro!

The problem with Nigerians is that they live in a world of utopia, defending even what cannot be admissible in the publics opinion. You forgot to mention that he is fluent in several local dialects mainly Kikuyu and Kiswahili. His children went to Kenyan public schools and are holding Kenyan passports and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Bhimji Depar Shah, is a Kenyan businessman, industrialist and entrepreneur. He is the founder and current Chairman of BIDCO Group of Companies, a Kenya-based, family-owned manufacturing conglomerate with businesses in 13 African countries. He is listed as one of the wealthiest people in Kenya, with an estimated net worth of approximately US$700 million in November 2014.
He was born in 1932. He migrated to Kenya, the largest economy in the East African Community, sometime prior to 1970. He settled in Nyeri, opening up a petrol station in the town.

Fact remain Shell and rest own 50% of you most important asset. Why after all those years can you not kick out Shell wink buy their 50% stark - big African giant?

Is that why your downstream business is such a mess - i have seen queues of people buying petrol. In kenya you've got more local companies doing serious oil downstream business in the region. we told you about Kenol Kobil. And kenya will never ran out of oil.

you answered my question without getting emotional and defensive,I like that...THANKS

Now you see why huge population should be avoided at all cost?? Nigeria is the biggest economy right now but an average nigerian will never get to enjoy the benefits that come with that

I like that you brought China as another example, but are Chinese people willing to gamble with their lives by trying cross the ocean with boats that are not sea worthy??

The problem with Nigeria is not only the population but also the corrupt government

One thing is obvious in Nigeria and it's corruption....buhari promised things he can't do all to exploit us to vote for him though me and ma whole family didn't vote him coz we know there types,he is jez like our state Governor aregbesola...they make promises they can't keep...and all this corruption results into one thing....states building themselves and not depending on federal government....Nigeria will be better crylol though

i now understand why they said " you can not convince a madman that he should stop beeing mad", after all these proofs and evidence you still won't accept simple fact base on all indications that "Kenya can never come close to Nigeria", mind u, Nairobi alone have more than 20 slums , meaning over 70% of the population leaves in slums

Nairobi has slums and so does Joburg - or any well planned city - coz you cannot build iron-roof cheap house in any part of nairobi - except illegally in a slum.

Lagos and all naija towns are mishmash of slums and posh area. Big difference. You entire town can be described as slum. Nairobi has some slums.

When lagos or naija towns start doing serious zoning - then you can speak here - every part of Nairobi is zonned and your plan has to be approved -

Nigerians are a bunch of loonies... Just coz Nigerians worship the white man doesn't necessarily mean other countries do. Kenya has the same mix of ethnic and racial diversity in sports and as a country every citizen has a favorite sporting event. Football is loved by blacks and few whites, cricket is adored by Kenyan asians, horse racing is loved by Kenyan whites and many more. Below is the diversity in different sporting events
1&2 is Ngong race course
3.4 is football at Nyayo stadium
they are just a sad nation, everytime I watch wwe I see nothing but white audience but when you watch NBA you will see black audience but it's not a big deal

It's not our fault that nigeria lacks diversity,NOT OUR FAULT AT ALL

They talk about apartheid in other countries but they can't tolerate their own blacks in nigeria(tribalism)

Kenya has 2/3 the land mass and 1/5 the population means the density is LESS. ah ah mathematics is important in life.
Ps: India, China and even USA have leveraged their humongous populations for development, progress and influence . As for Nigerians, they're too happy to send their excess population spilling across its borders and beyond , they seem clueless about what to do with 175 million people. Life there seems to be short, nasty and brutish.

You said maths...Kenya has approximately 200000m² while Nigeria is appro 300000m².....divide 180million by 300000 which equals to 600 which means 600nigerians live per square meter while Kenya 40million divided by 200000 is 200 which means 200kenyas live per square metre meaning 3:1 i.e 3nigerians fills a place just 1 Kenyatta fills....do you know get the maths and take notice,i approximated it all....

I have a lot of this so-called "Indians-Kenyans" friends, they all have houses in Mumbai and only leaves in Kenya because of the current opportunities and because they have already created districts for themselves in all the big cities (Nairobi, kisumu,Eldoret,Nakuru, mombasa ).

Long list but Shell alone still control 50% - of Nigeria oil upstream business. So you cannot talk about indigenous economy. Just talk about the puny oil-dependent nigeria economy.

iblawi:

Lagos state as at 1999 was generating internal revenue of N600 million and in 2015 they now generate over 360 billion naira internally generated revenue alone and it's still growing. See the level of growth and still growing. If the GDP was a lie how will you grow that much in a short time and most people still don't pay tax yet Except major companies.

Is Nigeria preparing data for world Bank and IMF?

Why is our figures similar with theirs.

The obsession with GDP and Nigerians are like identical twins..... With all that money generated from Lagos it is still considered the worst city to live in. Nairobi generates around 20% of the national GDP but boasts of the best infrastructural and modern facilities thus bagging the priced best city to live in Africa.
NAIROBI
Enjoys 24/7 electricity supply
Has 1 international airport, 1 domestic airstrip and a military airstrip
Has clean tapped water
Good road network
Has an industrial zone
Good housing
Affordable healthcare in world class hospitals

Shell Petroleum Development Company

Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) is the largest fossil fuel company in Nigeria, which operates over 6,000 kilometres (3,700 mi) of pipelines and flowlines, 87 flowstations, 8 natural gas plants and more than 1,000 producing wells. SPDC's role in the Shell Nigeria family is typically confined to the physical production and extraction of petroleum. It is an operator of the joint venture, which composed of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (55%), Shell (30%), Total S.A. (10%) and Eni (5%). Until relatively recently. It operated largely onshore on dry land or in the mangrove swamp.
i want you to get this, she'll only explore and only have 30% of the assets,NNPC 55%,

and how comes you allowed Indians to control over 70% of the economy, can a black Kenyan go to Indian and open a mare restaurant their without any backlash ?

Kenya is a free market economy. We don't control who comes to kenya and invest. We welcome all and deport only criminals. Your ideas are retrogressive and if that is mainstream nigeria thinking - no wonder you're that bad.

Kenyan indians and even indian indian are welcome to come and work legally, pay taxes and enjoy themselves without any fear.

We welcome Nigerians to come to kenya and compete with Indians & Kenyans & whites. Nobody really care in kenya about your colour - we are hospitable and welcoming - hence all those tourist and businessmen flocking.

It not like you're coming to grab an oil well cool cool - you're coming to work your arse off and make money the hard way.

THESE IS THE REASONS WHY YOU SEE NIGERIANS VERY RICH AND WEATHLY, THE WEALTHS IS EQUALLY DISTRIBUTED NOT IN PLACE WHERE TWO FAMILIES CONTROLS EVERY THING !
Its funny but how come majority of the oil wells are owned by the northerners yet its the most disadvantaged in the entire Nigeria.

The obsession with GDP and Nigerians are like identical twins..... With all that money generated from Lagos it is still considered the worst city to live in. Nairobi generates around 20% of the national GDP but boasts of the best infrastructural and modern facilities thus bagging the priced best city to live in Africa.
NAIROBI
Enjoys 24/7 electricity supply-of course with few companies and a capacity of 2000 MW, Generating 24 hr electricities is very possible
Has 1 international airport, 1 domestic airstrip and a military airstrip- Rubish airports , Lagos has one international airport and another one under construction, with many airstrips
Has clean tapped water- indeed with a small population and an average water production of 10Ml a while lagos 48581
Good road network- show me Good roads in other parts of Nairobi aside CBD
Has an industrial zone- Controlled by INDIANS?
Good housing- like Kibera,Mathare?
Affordable healthcare in world class hospitals-Indeed

Dude, no matter how you rant here it will not take away the fact that Nigeria is Africa's biggest economy. And Lagos economy is bigger than that of your paradise. Those are facts.

Big lie. Nigeria can barely meet 3 gigawatts per hour - demand and supply - kenya is doing 10 gigwatts per hour - It simple start paying your electricity bills (I mean you don't pay taxes) - and maybe those backrupt power will supply power.
