Maybe Northerners and yorubba because their foods have zero nutrients. Easterners foods...Igbo, Ibibio, Efik, Urhobo, Ijaws are packed with nutrients. How to know? Durig lunch, go to Igbo, Ibibio or Efik restaurants and you will see Yorubaas and Hausa packed inside like sardines licking their hands. But you will and can never ever see Igbos, Ibibios, Efiks, Urhobos, Ijaws inside Yorubaa and Hausa restaurants because their foods are useless, we know it. Also If you see an Igbo, Ibibio, Efik, Urhobo or an Ijaw man, you will know by their appearance and how well fed they are.

There is no kind of food you won't see in the North eg beans, carrots, carbage, acha, yam, sweet potatoes, sheep, onions, lettuce, apple (Jos), water melon, cow meat (beef), maize, pepper, tomatoes, sugar cane, dates, tiger nuts, Irish potatoes BUT THEY SELL THEM ALL.

Haba! Why so much haterade start of a new month?

Please let's learn to embrace our diversity. Different areas have their staple foods and to label others' foods as useless is just wrong.

This is the most simplistic and ignorant statement in the world. Please note that nutrition coming from any food source relies heavily on the source of the ''ingredient'' used to make that food. Meaning that if the girl who owns the breast is malnourished, then her milk is also malnourished and will not supply the needed nutrients to your ''brothers''. In simple terms, it is called ''garbage in garbage out'' or ''you cannot give what you do not have''.

And it's not just vitamin A problem: 20-30% of the Nigerian population have zinc, vitamin B and iron deficiencies. All taken together leads to stunted growth, lack of cognitive skills, forgetfulness and low resistance to diseases (reduced immunity). Nigeria can easily tackle zinc and iron deficiencies since these are elements that can be readily added into fertilizers to feed the crops and subsequently humans who eat those crops. For vitamins, they have to either be genetically added to crops, taken as supplements or be synthesized by human body. And if your body is weak due to any number of reasons, then vitamins biosynthesis may be impaired.

In the developed world, a lack of these nutrients is not a big deal as supplements of them are sold OTC in most stores. Most Nigerians cannot afford these supplements; hence it is not a sustainable option there.

bros you are using the mind God gave you to full capacity (100%).

Excellent thinking!
If our leaders have a mindset like yours, the standard/quality of living, life expectancy would have been far, far better.

but we have here are groups of people who only care about the welfare of their family that always looking for policies that will squeeze, emasculate the electorates.

The ones have now transferred that toxic virus to its citizens on a largescale.

Indeed. I tried to get people who work in the fertilizer industry in Nigeria to harness the abundant zinc resource found in Ebonyi, Middle Belt and a couple other places in Nigeria in producing NPK fertilizers fortified with zinc to help alleviate zinc deficiency. But the interest was not there unless the money comes from international donors. How can you expect a foreign donor to give you capital to add value to your commercial product even when you have not shown the interest and willingness to at least start the process of value addition?
