If I have to post Estates in Abuja alone am sure this thread would be more than 1000 pages. Kenyans should know their mate. These houses were not built by UN or African development bank and they are not maintained by Chinese. They are not barracks for people from slums.

I can keep on posting till Monday non stop because we have too much of them but why do I need to prove anything to people from a poor nation assisted by UN and African development bank to build houses and roads. GWARIMPA is not barracks setting and it still have over 6000 houses.

LightYagami:But N813bn($2BN)is peanuts for a state/province. For an example, Johannesburg as a City has a budget of R53bn or $4.4bn. Pretoria which is also part of gauteng has a budget of R44bn/$4bn, mogale city which is also part of gauteng has a budget of R15bn/$1.1bn and Ekurhuleni which is still part of gauteng has a budget of R30bn/$2.1bn. And Gauteng as a state/province, which joburg, pretoria, mogale city and Ekurhuleni fall under, has a budget of R144bn or $10.3bn. $4.4bn + $4bn + $1.1bn + $2.1bn + $10.3bn = $21.9bn This means that the budget of one state in South africa equals the entire budget of Nigeria. |

AfroCircus:. My final verdict on the strength of MNCs owned by Nigerians and Kenyans in every sectors which includes Oil and gas, Banking, Insurance, Retail, Hospitality, FCMG, Telecommunication, Technology, Engineering, etc is that Nigeria is ahead of Kenya in every sector of MNCs except Hospitality and.... . ![]() First of all, let us start with Oil and gas. OIL AND GAS Kenya's best oil and gas company Kenolkobil, is the only MNCs in this sector with operations only in 11 African (majorly East Africa and South Africa) countries while Nigeria on the other hand has more MNCs in this sector with operations not only in Africa but Europe and America at large, giving them a global out look. Oando Plc( West Africa, Toronto, USA, Joburg, South Africa and Nigeria), Sahara group (Nigeria, U.K, Switzerland, U.A.E, Ghana, Cote D'Ivoire, Singapore), Conoi plc, Fort oil(Nigeria Ghana, London etc), Erin petroleum Co (USA, China, Nigeria, Ghana and Gambia even Kenya), Heyden( Nigeria, United Kingdom, Dubai, UAE, Cape Town, South Africa), Obat Oil ( Europe and Africa) TKO Nigeria won this contest TELECOMMUNICATIONS Safaricom is only a Kenyan based company while Glo mobile operations are in Nigeria, Ghana, Benin and Cote D'Ivoire. Glo network also covers 170 countries in roaming services. We still have Ntel and visafone TKO Nigeria won again BANKING In Banking, Kenya KCB and Equity, Kenya's largest banks have operations in 7 & 6 countries in Eastern Africa respectively while Nigeria has many of its bank in many African countries and outside Africa. e.g FirstBank is the biggest bank in Nigeria by total deposits and gross earnings and operates a network of over 750 business locations across Africa, the United Kingdom and representative offices in Abu Dhabi, Beijing, Johannesburg, South Africa, DR Congo, Ghana, Sierra Leon, Guinea, France and Senegal. United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, is one of Africa's leading banking Groups with operations in 19 African countries and offices in three global financial centers: London, Paris and New York. Zenith Bank maintains subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Ghana, Sierra Leone and The Gambia, South Africa and China. Access Bank Group; Nigeria, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana, Rwanda, the Gambia, Sierra Leone, Zambia and the United Kingdom.[1] As of December 2015, Access Bank Group had assets in excess of US$13 billion. GTBank plc has 231 branches, 17 Cash Centres, 18 e-branches, 35 GTExpress locations and more than 1165 ATMs in Nigeria. GTBank has expanded to Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda. These countries belong to the "Eco zone". It has also expanded to the United Kingdom. With the acquisition of a 70 per cent stake in Fina Bank GTBank expanded into the East African market as at December 2013. As a consequence, Fina Bank will now be renamed and rebranded as subsidiaries of GTB and. These are just few among many. Kenya banks has been overwhelmed by Nigerian banks TKO Nigeria's banks won again. INSURANCE Britam group, à company offering insurance, asset management, banking and property investment has operations in 7 countries (Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Malawi, Rwanda and Mozambique) in Eastern and Southern Africa. While....... Industrial and General Insurance Company Plc is a leading provider of insurance and risk management services in West Africa. IGI is a large insurance services provider in Nigeria and through its subsidiaries, in Ghana, the Gambia, Rwanda and Uganda, London, UK and Washington, DC,USA, has a global company outlook than its Kenyan counterpart. In addition, NICON Insurance with operations in Nigeria, Sao Tome and Principal, and London, UK. MUTUAL is the flagship of insurance in Nigeria and runs a full-fledged insurance operation in Liberia and Republic of Niger Another TKO, Nigeria won the insurance sector. TECHNOLOGY I don't know much about Kenya's Technology but looking at Nigeria's list of technological companies, it is intimidating. Nevertheless, until the Kenyans on this platform provides a more reputable ones than the ones Nigeria has, I will say it is walk over. Interswitch is an Africa-focused integrated digital payments and commerce company that facilitates the electronic circulation of money as well as the exchange of value between individuals and organisations on a timely and consistent basis. It has operations in Nigeria, Uganda and Kenya. ![]() MainOne” also known as “Main One Cable” or “Main One”) is a leading provider of innovative telecom services and network solutions for businesses in West Africa, and with operations in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Mauritius and Portugal. TKO TKO again. Nigeria won the technology contest. ![]() To be continued.... ![]() If there any our Kenya brothers doesn't agree let them point it out. ![]() @Proudlykenyan how market. Do you still believe Nigeria dominates in the banking sector? More is coming to hit you hard tomorrow. ![]() |

GERALD710:Its not about debt to GDP, its about how you service that debt from your yearly budget. Currently nigeria spends 38% of its budget servicing debt. This means in every $100 nigeria earns, $38 goes to pay debt. which means the country is left with $62 to pay salaries, build hospital and improve infrastructure. This is a reason today you find some government and state workers spend 8 months without being paid. That can never happen in SA, only one month of none payment, the whole country can burn. But my fellow nigerian brothers and sisters suffer and smile at the same time. i weep for them. |

forgiveness:Let us go through your listing Oando plc does NOT operate in Toronto. It is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. That does not mean that it has a license to operate in Canada. Otherwise, Safaricom also operates in London, Uganda and Rwanda by your retarded logic. Oando is also restricted to West Africa. Only West Africa. Kenol Kobil is in East, Central and Southern Africa!! See the comparison?? Sahara Group is indeed widely distributed, but a minor player in almost all the countries it is located. Kenol Kobil is the second to third largest oil company in every country it is located except for the DRC. As for Fort oil see my Oando comment Plus, given the fact that Kenya is yet to produce any oil , we have come far .Imagine where we will go to once the barrels start trickling. Banking. Nigerian banks outside of Nigeria are separate units from their Nigerian units. Any Nigerian in Kenya can tell you that GT Bank Kenya, UBA bank Kenya and Ecobank are of zero help to Nigerians as you cannot access your money even if you have the very same account in Nigeria. On the other hand Kenyan banks outside of Kenya are one and the same and you will access your money anywhere in East and Central Africa. In Insurance, Britam is by far larger than any Insurance company in Nigeria.Once again, all Nigerian insurance companies largely operate in West Africa while Britam is in East,Central ,Southern Africa as well as the Indian Ocean territories. Britam has at one point been a Government of Kenya parastatal since it was once owned by Housing Finance which is a Government parastatal. Technology. In Kenya, THE GOVERNMENT OF KENYA is the main investor thus most companies are localised rather than being multinationals. That is also why Safaricom, which started out as a Government parastatal has not expanded out of Kenya(However, it has licensed MPESA to nations as far as Afghanistan and South Africa) However, out tech sector is superior simply because the Government keeps prices low due to its interest. EXAMPLES All fibre optic cables landing in Nigeria are owned by private entities which like SAT-3 charge up to 5 times the global price of bandwidth with no improvement in quality. In Kenya, TEAMS is 40% owned directly by the Government of Kenya and it is loved by most bandwidth wholesalers as it has low latency and it is extremely cheap, less than $4 per MB. Indeed, Wananchi Group ,Zuku product rides on TEAMS. I am writing this on my Zuku Triple play subscription with a 30 Mbps line, 90 tv channels and a phone which offers free and unlimited zuku to zuku phone calls for only $57 a month . No product in Nigeria that I have seen can beat that!!Even Liquid Telcom provides 48 Mbps DEDICATED for $61 here in Kenya. It is why the likes of Nokia-Siemens, IBM,TechnoBrain, Google, Cisco all have their Africa Headquarters in Kenya. Our Government takes an interest. For example,Nigeria only rolled out a national fibre optic strategy in 2014.To date, it mainly covers the South. Kenya's National Fibre Optic Backbone started in 2006 as a government endeavour and we are in Phase 11.It now covers all 47 Kenyan counties and the metropolitan high capacity fibre optics cover 35 of the 47 counties. The Kenya Education Network which rides on the NFOB as well as the Liquid Telcom network(which they inherited from KDN) is today BY FAR the fastest ISP on the continent, dedicating 6MBps per student in every educational institution. No other ISP comes close. When it comes to technology, ours is local(but with many global MNCs who have set up shop here) ,with a lot of government shareholding, but of very high quality. |

When am free in the evening I will post more than 30 malls I know of in Abuja, Nigeria and believe me they are not in the same league with what Kenyans have been posting. To me you guys have been posting supermarkets not Malls Kenyans don't know their mate but I will prove it to them that we are not in the same league even with UN and African development bank support. You will soon know Tea is different from cocoa. Kenyans don't even know Nigeria own 10% stake in Africa development bank which is higher than that of any country. |

Nigeria has very nice houses. But what is the use of nice houses when, even from some of the pictures, you have to have a generator because you guys have an epileptic power supply, When you have to drill boreholes for water(And given that much of West Africa is an Arsenic belt, is very risky) You most likely install septic tanks for sewerage You have to build your own carbopaved roads When you are all paying rates to your state governments ![]() Kenya too as such houses, as shown by the pictures also uploaded here. Houses with 24 hour electricity supply for at least 360 of the 365 days(Power blackouts only during maintenance for 8 hours every 6 months and a few times a tree falls on the power lines. Both will be a thing of the past as Kenya power is pioneering on live maintenance and Nairobi is grounding its power lines) Water provided on a 24 hour basis by the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company or in the case of Mombasa, directly by the Government of Kenya's National Water Company. Nairobi does have some areas with water issues, due to sabotage rather than a lack of water like 90% of Lagos according to your newspapers A Sewerage system. Most Kenyan towns, have had sewerage systems from the colonial era. We have since expanded them as populations have grown. Even tiny rural towns like Karatina have every house connected and use trickle technology for treating sewerage. Barely 10% of Lagos is served by a sewer system.Over 50% of Nairobi has access to a sewer system.Only slum dwellers do not. Tarmacked roads right to my doorstep, built by the county Government We see your horror roads on your Nollywood movies even in a modern city. |

GERALD710:Generator is another source of power. In Nigeria our installed capacity is still over 12,000mw but no gas to power most of them because the bombing of pipelines is really disturbing them. That is why dangote is running two pipelines under sea from Port Harcourt to Lagos that can generate over 12,000 megawatts of electricity. The project will be completed in 2018. Several solar power plant are also to begin in the northern part of the country. I've not even added Mambilla with over 3000mw capacity and nuclear power plant of over 6000 megawatts. Several other sources of electricity like coal and hydro are also under construction. Kenya till dat is only generating 2000MW of electricity so why claim to be better. We are still ahead of you in this. |

iblawi:Kenya's retail sector is the most formalised after South Africa http://www.oxfordbusinessgroup.com/news/kenya%E2%80%99s-retail-sector-ranks-second-most-formalised-africa This is the part you do not understand,You talk of Malls in Abuja and Lagos. The majority of malls in Kenya are found OUTSIDE of Nairobi. We have malls in Mombasa,Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret etc Our Tea fetches a much higher value than cocoa. Because Kenyan tea is the best quality and the most expensive on the planet!!Our farmers earn more per kilo than any other farmers of black tea on the planet. That is not boasting. It is fact.http://www.kenya-information-guide.com/kenya-tea.html Our tea is in fact used to blend other teas to add taste. Only in Kenya do people drink 100% Kenyan tea. Our volcanic highlands are the reason. The same applies to coffee. Nigerian cocoa does not even match up to the one in Ivory Coast. |
