National drama festival.
All kenyan schools compete yearly in traditional dance, choral verse, singing and play acting in what is known as drama festival. It is so good that other African countries have been making requests to join. Nigeria has made such a request. I think there were a few participants from Nigeria this year.

Yours truly did this in primary school level many years ago. Did a choral verse and i encourage my kids to do likewise, but none seems inclined in that direction. You mean to say 9ja requested to participate?
I have been to several African countries and most don't have this phenomenon of schools drama festival. I have always wondered why. Btw, schools drama is a very lucrative commercial event for the host town, competition is fierce to have it staged in their towns. Same goes for schools sports festival.

Lol! It's a Kenyan special. Drama was and still is big especially with secondary school kids in boarding. It also involves serious cultural issues. Here is the story of Nigerian participants. Good for them...

Attendance and scheduled performance of a play this Saturday by Greensprings School from Lagos, Nigeria, is a vindication of how far the Kenya Drama Festival has had an impact.

The school, led by their teachers Patricia Ogo and Wenceslaus Masinde, arrived on Wednesday and were officially received by festival chairman Chokera Kahora.
