yet price of rice is still expensive, we need price control in this country.
Price of rice has fallen to 15k for 50kg. If you compare it with 11k when Dollar was 200 Naira as against 15k now Dollar is 400 it translates to 7500 of 2014.

Good job Mr Williams. You are making your impact but it is advisable you do it stealthily.

However, I salute your courage and determination and say more grease to your elbows.

Continue to make us proud.

Good job Mr Williams but some of us know that you are the son-in-law to Chief, General, President Olusegun Okikiola Obasanjo GCFR. Technically, the farm may belong to your father-in-law. The great Ebora of Owu and the larger than life President of Nigeria.

At least you are making your impact but it is advisable you do it stealthily.

However, I salute your courage and determination.
President Obasanjo himself is not producing that much rice! Give kudos to someone heading a 600 member workforce while not missing salaries!

if we have all this manufacturers why haven't we been self sufficient in rice production all
this while?
We have nearly 200 million mouths. Each one can finish a bag in 2 weeks if eaten daily. That's a lot of bags of rice.

do you even know what you are saying? if you don't understand what I wrote up there you better mute. I am far from the kind of women you are describing. You know how hard it is to not prefer paid employment and want to set out on your own? you know how hard it is to risk your hard earned money? you know how hard it is to venture into agric business. so much risk had been taken. Go and find out the real meaning of an entrepreneur. if you are not creating a solution you are not one. It has nothing to do with his look. For someone to have that look and think SMART, then a lot of kudos to him. You know how many job he has created. He is smart, he is handsome and he is a solution provider. Go hug a transformer

Largely because most of the rice we consume here in this country is imported....and also because we do not produce enough for local needs.....as most of the rice produced in Nigeria is via small scale farming which isn't enough to satisfy demand.

Farms like Mr Williams' are the exception. If there were more of them, we won't need to import rice.

Also, your large scale farmer still has to import a lot of the equipment needed for the farm. That raises costs.
but dangote has and manh others nahh.. bro dey keep sayin larg.. like it can feed d nation.. nd keep givin us false hope.. i tried d buhari rice nd it was cool but not filtered.. nd its still #90... see wat m sayin?

Everyone doesn't have to farm, but you don't have to make pessimistic comments like you did.

Sorry man, didn't mean to sound rude too, I guess I got emotional because your comment seemed to belittle the effort of those that are walking the talk, diversification wise. Hope you had a great day?
