The Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Fatai Owoseni, warned and directed the release of this young lady with her baby for stealing plantain at Agbowa Police Station. He also gave her N10,000 when she said hunger pushed her into stealing the plaintain in Agbowa market.

This is what I expect many of the big ogas especially in the police force to be doing. Just buzz to any police station unannounced and see what they are up to. This is a nice gesture. Am very sure if they know the CP will branch their office, they would have either rewritten the charges to robbery and assult or release her conditionally. And am sure if they help the owner of the plantain recover his/her goods they will still share it with the owner.
This is what they do to many helpless citizen, detaining them for light offences especially if they can't meet up with the money involved.
I am sure if that woman spend more than 3 days their, the bad eggs there won't mind molesting her not minding if she has a baby or not. Police needs total reform and orientation.
