Ogun(221)+Cross River(301)+Delta(271) +20 billion naira=Lagos (813b)

And some people out of smug ignorance and jealousy would say LAGOS DOES NOT DESERVE A SPECIAL STATUS.

If Lagos is not special, how come others don't generate and spend as much as it does?

How come it's still the only state setting pace for good governance in Nigeria?
I guess you are from Lagos as usual, let the FG establish seaports in PH, Warri, Calabar, and other places along the coast, establish world standard airports in PH and Enugu, establish consular offices of embassies in the east and see what happens to Lagos

They already have ports, they have airports. Their ports and airports become unviable and fail due to underuse.

This is a classic case of rich getting richer and poor getting poorer. The reason why Lagos will always be top is that everybody has left their areas and moved to Lagos and those left are the poor, okada riders, market women, farmers etc, so many of our states are unviable because they don't have a sufficient middle class population with enough purchasing power to sustain any noteworthy investment. For example, nobody is going to bring a KFC, shoprite, silverbird cinema, to people who can't afford them. Nobody is going to site a factory in places wher you can't get educated workers. Without Investments, you don't create quality jobs, no jobs =no tax, no tax = no IGR. Why is Lagos always No 1? Tax= IGR. If you want to help your state move back home, nobody is going to fix it for you!

wat of their implementation reports?
No governor or president should be allowed to present any budget without given account of how previous monies was spent

Lagos is long overdue for decentralization. NPA LAGOS, EMBASSIES LAGOS, BANK HEADS OFFICES LAGOS, INT AIRPORT LAGOS. OIL COMPANIES HEAD QUITE. LAGOS,. NAVY CANTONNMENT, ARMY AIRFORCE LAGOS. AND U GET MOST TO TAKE. LET PH WHARF, CALABAR SEAPORT BE WORK ING. WHY CANT WE CLEAR OUR GOODS IN ONITSHA, WHY MUST WE GO TO LAGOS BEFORE TRAVELLING OUT SIDE NIGERIA.
Direct your concerns and complaints to the FG, the private sector and the people. These 3 hold all the aces.

The FG because some of the entities mentioned are owned by it, the private sector because they only know the reason why they cited and continue to cite their headquaters in Lagos, and by extension, the SW, and the people because they need to create the conducive atmosphere and environment to attract investment. A case in point is the Niger Delta where the people bomb oil installations day and night. I wonder which investor in his right senses would invest in such a volatile environment.

There you have your answer!

Lagos should pay for monopolizing critical federal infrastructures. Heavy tax should be placed on Lagos and the tax used in replicating same infrastructures in other places

That Al-makura of a Governor is supposed to hide his head in shame!! it's a big shame that Nasarawa state is bringing on 67billion as her appropriation for the year! if after all the reduction in salaries of his workers, persistent strike actions etc. at the end this is all he has got to offer! if you are from Nasarawa and you are reading this post, just repeat after me; Lord! take us away from the bondage of every helicopter and convoy whining Governor in JESUS name!" What if it's as a result of padding and corruption, coupled with over bloated civil service?

My friend will you shut up. As if Ondo,SW is not part of the Niger Delta and it produces more oil than the entire SE.
You no get sense at all, did I say South South in my post, I said Niger Delta on purpose because Ondo is classified as part of Niger Delta under NDDC and SE. Go and look for your glasses.

Chai! Everything is projected on Niger Delta OYEL huh

What has happened to all the talk about economic diversification by the State Govs and FG over the years?
No wonder they keep supporting Operation Crocodile Smile, Python Dance, Rabbit Clap, Cockroach Laugh, Mosquito Bite in the Niger Delta and South East where the Oyel is domiciled and many Nairalanders who are state and local govt workers will be shouting on this forum kill them IPOB, scatter the militants, burn the agitators because their salaries comes from that area embarassed
Go check the 2017 budget as presented by the president and stop celebrating your ignorance in public. EVERYTHING is not based on oil. INFLOW projections has less than 50% oil revenue component. Truth is, we've progressed a little. Diversification is not achieved overnight. But then, there's still a whole lot to be done.

Ebonyi State submitted It's budget long time before most of the States mentioned. The submission is too parochial. What has Ebonyi done to these clanish elements.
