Stop deceiving yourself.

It was not Yoruba Muslims who voted for Buhari.
It was the professional class. Yorubas rightfully don't see religion as an issue. Yoruba's have the largest Churches and also many Muslims. In terms of pull many Muslim n's are turning xtian everyday but the political tendencies don't change.

PLEASE FACE HARD FACTS !!!!!!!

What is pushing Buhari is perception of integrity and honesty, disdain for corruption and his previous harsh clampdown on a culture wanton looting.

Most Igbos don't see Nigeria fir what it is and Niger Delta people are too oil-centric , that is why they think religion is the driver in Yoruba land . It is not.
Politics is not linear, it is not business. It is about mass emotion.

SW people have a love for Buhari carrying over from the old Buhari - Idiagbon era. It will take time for that live to wane. Yet most Ibos can't understand that simple thing that a tough government could be attractive in a certain cultural setting. Ibos need to be more broad minded and intellectual in politics

PDP rigged/bribed massively in the SW in 2014 and Tinubu was a partial liability to APC in parts of Lagos , Ondo and Ekiti , that was why the PDP even did well.

By 2019, there is not going to be opposition to Buhari or APC in the SW from any quarters. They will tailor programs to hit the right demographics and endure that political obstacles are eliminated long before elections.
That's your opinion

A lot of sane Yorubas voted against Buhari and that's why he couldn't get more than 50% vote in many Yoruba states. The problem in Southwest is that after the fall of Ilorin, Islam was brought in Yorubaland with sword and threat of bloodshed making a lot of Yorubas turning themselves into Fulani slavish Muslims. They're the major problem in Southwest. Those people will vote for any Fulani Muslim irrespective of anything and they have money and media to spread lies. They're the people referred to as Afonja or Yoruba Muslims.
u aren't reasoning straight, going by ur comments u must be a child. in the SW, Muslims and Christians get along well, they get married, members of the same family practise their respective faith without ish.
So, dear friend, the next time u open ur mouth, learn to at least make a little sense.
Don't spree gibberish every time.
thank u

Buhari will be laughing so loud at this fellow. He knows the SW has no mind of her own. When the North comes calling, they will kneel and suck their ass as they did after the North killed Abiola. All the threat from Soyinka then didn't produce any action. This is one those words and no action.
Like the way Ojukwu, the greatest Igbo man in history, shamelessly sucked the ass of the North after his ever deluded tribe was decimated from 1967 - 1970 by abandoning Azikiwe's NPP and joining, NPN, a NORTHERN party to contest for a senatorial seat, right?

When elderstatesmen talk like this, I really wonder if they are truly Nigerians.

Sir, how can you come out and only pin point your tribe as the only tribe that has been marginalized .

Please re-think!!!

The Southwest. votes are not enough to stop Buhari, a Fulani, in 2019. Twenty states in the old northern region is the magic formula for any northern presidential candidate to win.

I know so. There is no alternative.
PDP is dead.
The politics of money is dead also because of the war on corruption. Buhari has two and a half years to roll out social welfare programs that will target the young people. Many projects are going to be completed in 2018. The oil price crash will end soon and by a combination of factors , the recession in Nigeria will also end. The positive thing is that the economy would have been partially diversified by then. Already 60 percent of Government income is coming from non oil sources.
Same confidence shown by Asari Dokubo , Reno Omokri , etc that made GEJ look silly
Even many ApC won't vote PmB in 2019.

When reminded that the yoruba race has the number two man in the country, the 81 year old elderstatesman from Ondo dismissed the saying describing the country’s vice president, Osinbajo as a spare tyre.

“When we were raising that alarm, it is not that we have personal hatred or harboured any grudge against Buhari, but our opposition against Buhari was hinged on the fact that this man was in power before and we all knew how he marginalized other sections of the country, promoting only the northern interests.
“People complained that time against his style, but Buhari refused to budge, under Buhari’s military leadership then, Nigeria was almost turned into Animal Farm where some animals were equal than others.

“Forget whatever his supporters and media handlers are saying, Buhari is pro-North 100 per cent, and he doesn’t care about the feelings of other sections of the country, especially the South. Buhari is not a national leader, it would be wrong for anybody or any genuine patriot to describe Buhari as a national leader.
“However, it is not only the Yoruba that Buhari has marginalised, he has marginalized the entire South. Buhari is Nigeria’s president, but from his actions, he doesn’t behave or act like a leader who sees the entire nation as his constituency.”

Going by your statement, It will be a shame if the SE should seek to upgrade to the "spare tyre" position in 2019.

I'd rather be a useful "spare tyre" than be a flat tyre that's completely useless in the boot.
Maybe some of our greedy politicians are okay with sharing spare Tyre(rarely used)with Afonjas like Osibande, but the rest of the Igbos want a new car.

Unfortunately those are your reps and the people that matter, especially as the dealer you sent to get the new car is now behind bars for going about it criminally.

You're living in denial. Yoruba Muslims has an affinity with Fulani Muslims and they are the largest block of Buhari supporters in SW. Yoruba politics has since 2007 being tailored to suit Islamic view especially among the ACN/APC goons. In 2019, the reasons for voting Buhari will vary in different parts of Nigeria but essentially, just like the Muslims in the North, Yoruba Muslims will prefer a Fulani Muslim to continue.
If u claim Yoruba Muslims have affinity for Fulani muslims and that Yoruba politics were tailored to suit Islamic views since 2007, then why didn't SW Yoruba muslims vote for Buhari at the polls 2011? Remember SW massively voted for GEJ. This signifies your statement invalid.

Something made the difference btw 2011 and 2015 which was obviously not Religion or Tribe.

Never let your mind be blinded with unascertained assumptions. And always look into the past.
