Shame!
It is beyond paying them. What about parties, celebration of the ladies that got us a national cup. Ronaldo, arguably one of the best players in the world, was in tears for winning a national football trophy for the first time in his life and they even named an airport after him.

You pay ladies that won a national trophy their due allowances and you want us to celebrate. Are we supposed to know that they were paid their allowances?

its a shame on the nff and sports ministry and government in nigeria from time immorial that gallant and resourceful girls like this and so many doing so many across the federation , have to go this far to get what is due and supposedly expectected to be given to them, when other part of the world will celeberate them with so much..but the salary and allowances of this jobless ediots in government are even paid upfront and are not even owed a minute..i think it has come to a threshold where we should soon begin to catch this criminals alongside their convoys and set them ablaze as common theives..this ediots are too irrelevant to nigerians, they are practical cancerworms in governance,..NFF, dalung, pricknick and all....the world is moving foward and fast, we citizens sincerely have to do something about this bastards,..ASAP

“It is not as if the Federation did not plan to pay the players and officials their entitlements. The NFF expected some money from a number of sources but this did not work out."

Many people who are blaming the govt for this embarrassment don't know how football governance works. The money the govt provided is more or less a bailout fund for the NFF.

Ask yourself; can the President or even the Sports Minister sack the NFF President? The answer is no. FIFA will threaten to ban any country that tries such, because it is govt interference in football matters. The NFF is that autonomous. Now if govt cannot interfere in football matters, why should it be responsible for picking up the bills agreed to by the federation and its players?

The NFF receives money from Fifa, from its sponsors without remitting a kobo to govt or even giving accounts for such.

Personally, I think govt should hands of sports as far as funding sports federations is concerned. Let them scrap the Ministry of Sports and focus on providing sports facilities and direct funding to the National Sports Commission for grassroots sports development. Enough of funding the lasciviousness of people like Pinnick and those who were there before him.

Good bless you for this whole truth. Haters easily lash out in ignorance of the real situation on ground. Unfortunately FIFA won't say anything in this show shame by nff but govt call for accountability for its funds and fifa will say political interference.
