''I was in Gurgaon, Haryana, India on 28th August 2015 when I learnt of BD Lawal's appointment as Secretary to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Having had the misfortune of working with BD Lawal in the APC as well as in President Buhari's 2015 Election Campaign, I sent a quick text message to many leaders of the APC, including President Buhari. I thought I should share this message to the public, even for posterity. Happy reading:

"BD Lawal's appointment as SGF is a slap on the face to the APC and everything Buhari stands for. He doesn't have the exposure, the tact, the temperament and composure to hold the most important executive appointment in Africa's biggest democracy. He is brash, uncouth and politically irresponsible. I hope PMB realises and corrects this horrendous mistake soon."
