Guardiola utilised Fabregas as a striker for Barcelona when Villa was injured and the team flourished with that formation. Spain also used the same and succeeded. Don't write Guardiola off yet.

if these players arent his type then why doesnt he look for a tactics that is appropriate for his players

you know a great coach by one who can work with what he has and make something great out of the team, not one who has all he needs. How many new players did Conte buy? What of Klopp? Are they making excuses?

Guardiola is obviously a good coach, but he's nowhere near a great coach
