ReubenE:What don't you understand, the DSS has done a very thorough and professional job. The fact that Magu is also working for the good of the country it doesn't mean if some questionable things are discovered about him it should just be swept under the carpet. National security is very important and ANYBODY who is perceived to be a threat can be indicted. I am sure you know that If our security agencies want to work they can do so efficiently. |

castrokins:I am telling you Sagay has always been a foolish man. See his reasoning, he countered DSS report unilaterally. He doesn't seem to understand what that does in future to DSS reputation. If DSS report on Magun is indicted, why should its report on anyone including those on which EFCC is basing some of its trial be valid? The man Sagay is so parochial and naïve. His motive is basically just defend anything Buhari whether it makes sense or not. Corrupt people calling others corrupt. |

“The President demanded for more cogent reasons on why he should sack Magu. He said they should bring more convincing reasons beyond the DSS report,” the source said, pleading not to be named because of what he described as the “sensitivity” of the matter. What does this mean really? The same DSS reports were good enough to harass and attack the Judiciary but suddenly he needs more than that to remove Magu? Fighting corruption indeed! This practice of having a person in acting capacity for too long should be discontinued because it opens up too much room for compromise and undue influence. The proper thing should be that once an occupant of an office as about 6 or 3 months to retirement, the appointing authority should immediately start identifying and screening likely replacements and once someone is settled on, d name of the nominee should be forwarded immediately to the Senate where required for screening and confirmation so once the incumbent steps down, the new appointee assumes office immediately. That way there'll be minimal room for some of the silly stories being touted about how the Senate has rejected Magu because he's investigating some of them and all that trash. In fact no appointee should be put through the harrowing experience of having his fate hanging in the balance as to the confirmation or otherwise of his appointment! It's just like the case of the CJN. Till date, Buhari has not deemed it fit to forward his name to the Senate for confirmation and for the first time we have an acting CJN. Is he waiting for him to compromise or to play his hand in a certain way? Must he wait till the last minute and bring about some constitutional backlash? |

Playa0ne:The report should be discredited on its merits ie content documentation and evidence should be presented to show the report is false or erroneous. Attempts to counter same by mere political games of smokes and mirrors without actual evidential fact only makes the process more dirty. How does a supposed power tussle discredit the report really and has said power tussle been established? Or do we now rely on perceptions and opinions without facts? |

freeze001:Visit premiumtimesng.com, the issues raised by the report were investigated separately and the findings clearly articulated. The said report lacks merit and is purely to constitute nuisance and cast aspersions on Magu's person. This kind of frivolous petty reports can only be considered in a banana republic like Nigeria, where the crooks bank on the illiteracy and stupidity of the masses and use any flimsy means to pursue their end. Read the findings before making further comments. |

Playa0ne:I have read it and it boils down to a rebuttal merely on the sheets of some paper given to the press. His matter has been dealt with by the Senate. It is no longer gossip or rumour. He can only counter same formally as well either in the floor of the Senate which clearly didn't work out or he files an action against the DSS. Newspaper or Onochie rebuttals do not cut it. It is not the 'masses' that appointed him, a closer representation of the 'masses' rejected his nomination. All the masses have is their opinion..doesn't count for much really. This is beyond his newspaper indictment and prosecution style. |

freeze001:What are you talking about? how do people make rebuttals? on cardboard papers or on radio stations? You are probably aware that the Senate would not even let him speak at his screening because they had already reached a predetermined outcome before entertaining him. And look at you talking gibberish saying that he file an action against the DSS? are you this naive? dont you know the stakes in power play of this magnitude? you think even his principal Buhari would support this? You dont seem to understand how delicate the issue is because the parties involved hold immerse power and are very close to the Presidency or why do you think Magu has not said a word about what ensued? You seem to be a paid hack who is here to support a flawed corruption ridden paradigm, I engaged you because I thought you were a sincere person who was just trying to make a conversation...how can you say the Senate is a closer representation of the masses especially in this case? a Senate full of thieves, with litigation's all over their necks and their President the chief crook, yet you make it sound like the people are in support of their actions. How many actions has the Senate taken in the last 10years that has been in the interest of the masses? It has been obvious since the begining of this regime that the senate has an axe to grind with Efcc under Magu for his vigourous prosecution of their members, they have found a willing partner in Daura (Dss) who wants to teach Magu a lesson for been a friend of the NSA. The fact that this confirmation has been postponed for months by a senate that does nothing but listen to Dino and Nonsense talk rubbish at sessions, gives credence to what we are saying |

There is no point attempting to attack my person, I am only playing the game they like to play and I refuse to be unnecessarily sentimental about their useless power games because they're all of one stock ie the APC and their formation was flawed from day one with only one agenda. Now they've got that which they seek, they should deal with their madness. I've no compassion or support for Magu or d DSS or d Presidency or d APC dominated NASS because they are all dirty thieves and Magu is not exempt. The proper change would have been this: freeze001:With this, a lot of rubbish will be avoided but because of too much greed and vested interests to show a set of people as superior to the other, we are in this nonsense today. Is it proper that a supposed serious govt is unable to develop a synergy with the Senate and get appointments settled so that d institutions actually work? I refuse to be part of their political drama because when people like us were pointing out pitfalls, u were all forming supporters club. For the rebuttal, I maintain my position that for now it is nothing but stories on the news and holds no water in the general scheme of things. If that counter position cannot get into the formal quarters to be considered, it not worth more than the piece of paper it is written on. The bolded part is childish but I'll be the bigger peron and excuse that for now. Playa0ne: |

Its an open secret that the DSS under the Presidency and EFCC has been at loggerheads since the beginning of this regime. This is what happens when to cherry-pick your anti corruption fight. |

Magu is not indispensable. Failure of his confirmation by the Senate sealed his fate. Another retired or serving member of the country's security agencies can equally do the job. |

If he has done all this, u still wouldn't be satisfied, ull now say for u to believe in his fight, he himself is corrupt, he stole billions wen he was pet minister and head of ptf. So he should resign. When he resigns, ull say this Buhari is a fool, he does not have sense..... Y would he resign, he is a coward........ I know ur type |
