This is the only red card Messi has received career... Ronaldo has received close to 10 if I'm not mistaken

Another dagger pierces ddipset's heart.

All hail (the real)Ronaldo, the greatest footballer of all time!
Messi won it at the age of 22 and 24... Ronaldo just won it at 31 grin

Shekpe FC are a disgrace to Europe. They went to Club World Cup and embrassed themselves there despite having the likes of Hidden Hazard and that unproductive loser Frank Lampard.

What a shame tongue

He couldn't do what he did yesterday against a well-drilled defence. Those espanyol defenders should be flogged. The space in which he operated was too small for him to erase five defenders. It's obvious most teams ''dont train tackle'' in spain (pep's voice).
Last season, this same Chelsea had the worst defense in Epl's top 10... grin grin grin

Come to think of it... That Red card was strange! shocked How was that a Red card?

Anyway, that was the birth of a living legend... cool

Hater, hater!!

Reaching a WC final is still regarded more highly than winning a Euro Cup in the footie community – a competition CR7 was not even spectacular in; a competition he didn't even get to play in the finals because he was nursing an injury; a contest he merely rode on the coattails of his team mates as he gave no substantial contribution whatsoever in any of the games leading to the finals --- unlike Messi in Copa America.

Messi is the pacesetter; Ronaldo plays catch up. When will you lot accept that what Messi is to CR7, Ivan Drago is to Yuri Boyka?

Messi robbing EPL fanboys of their sleep since 1990.

Ronaldo caught up to international success, Messi set the pace too fast for his tiny legs to keep up.

I don't think you're fully aware of the World Cup's worth. Nigeria would gladly trade all their gold medals from the African Nations Cup just to earn a spot in a WC final, and you are here talking about EURO cup.

Luck favoured Ronaldo once in international football. It shouldn't warrant much cöck-a-doodledoo, especially since Messi's personal and team achievement in club football enshadows that of CR7. I can understand why CR7's shoddy EURO Cup win is frequently exhumed for comparison's sake – it's because that's the only thing we can say he edges Messi in.

Wake up to the coffee smell on the wall: success in country football has never been the ultimate barometer in determining who the better player is.

Luck is not the acme of excellence. Every football pundit worth his/her salt knows this. I know you know this as well, but you are too resolute in your refusal to rise above your CR7-ManUnited partisanship and call a spade a spade.

CR7 is older than Messi. Messi can still play in two WCs and two Copa America. Ergo, there's still the window of possibility that Messi can achieve success in country football. Case closed. And even if, perchance, he doesn't get to win any trophy with Argentina; he still remains the greatest footballer of all time.

that yesterday game was too amazing...messi went into super saiyan mode. One commentor said 'he is dubbed the 2nd best player in the world', the 2nd commentator said 'to me he is the best'. legends of the game and commentators all agree he is the best yet some madridiots and epl fans will say a certain homo is better, some even saying he has surpassed pele. cr7 is nothing more than another ridiculous goalscorer in history, on the same level with eusebio, puskas, bican, gerd muller. let him win a Wc + 2 ballon dors, messi potter is still better
Er, last I checked Messi has won nada with his country.Let him win at least a copa trophy for his nation. It would be a big shame for the acclaimed greatest ever to end his career with nothing won with his NT.

Useless Espanyol

Messi that was pocketed by a defence line of Ramires-Bosingwa-Ivanovic and A.Cole

Nonsense

Reductio ad absurdum. Your analogy's a stretch.

Beyonce is well out of your reach (grin) – a will-'o-the-wisp if you will. On the other hand, Messi winning WC or Copa America is not inconceivable, especially if we extrapolate from the fact that he has managed to reach three finals in international football – two Copa America and one WC final.

Your sentiments and partisanship befog your judgement.

Why is Beyonce out of my reach yet success within reach for a man who has been to 4 international finals and has nothing but tears and catarrh in his beard to show for it?

Ronaldo had two shots, he took 1. Messi had 4 shots, he scored none.

When i look at the losers who are always quick to jump on top Barca matter, I usually laugh and smile. I know in their wildest dreams, they dream of it, they make it a prayer point, but they can't have it. They cant have what I have... I have Messi.

It's a shame that some people have failed to acknowledge Messi as the saviour of football!
Well Jesus was also not acknowledged during his time, but 2000 years after his death, people are still worshiping him!

He was right behind him learning from his boss.

Even Ballack had to bow in front of him.

Because;

1. You are not known outside the confines of Nairaland.

2. You've got nothing on Shawn Carter.

3. Beyonce is richer and more famous than you. Trust me, women like Bey don't settle for less.

Should I go on?

Ronaldo had two shots, he took 1. Messi had 4 shots, he scored none.
Reductio ad Ororo le god.
Luck smiled on CR7's side of the hedge in country footie. It doesn't make him superior.

Why foreground CR7's win in EURO and leave out all the other MANY areas where he is eclipsed by Leo?

You are too emotional and biased to be analysing soccer.
