Well it's surprising to me that the media, with all its smartness, tried to let the public take hook, line and sinker for the trailers that blocked the road.


The reality of the matter was beclouded under the 10,000 tax by the Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello each day.

Only one nairalander, in person of Okonja, got the real motive behind almost 600 trailers blocking the link road to 6 zones on the map.



They wanted the soldier to be "brought to justice" and any uniform outfit you can think of( Frsc, Civil Defence, Police) couldn't salvage the situo( their lack of negotiation tactics comes to mind, obviously weak)


Some were heard saying " This na Christmas, make I dey alive with my family abeg. I no wan die"

all the above are eyewitness account, myself inclusive.

I was & still surprised that the media didn't say anything about the unfateful event that happened that day. Though I have an inkling it's gonna result to this because anyone that tried to take a snapshot around the place that day was scolded not to. I just maintained myself.

A journey of 7hours later lasted for 15hours 40mins.

mine was supposed to be 4 but it became 6 because our driver knew some inroad community shortcut. boys gathered to set up "tollgate" and woe betide any commuter who refuse to pay the token of 100 naira. Thousands of vehicles passed there yesterday. One of our passengers spotted his friend that owns a pharmacy and bookshop amongst the boys taking toll. Obviously, "boys" mustu chop too. A pity!!!
