This dude has had money for ages...he was a highly rated prospect from his youth, already earning an above-average living in Argentina, playing in the World Cup and moving to Europe where he went straight to the money league (English Premier League); he and this woman already have two kids, and they have been dating for a while.

The report says they 'met' not that they have been together since then. I think the reporter has only made reference to this as a way of sensationalizing the story. She probably started dating him a little later in my opinion.
