Yeye GtBank

So, I went to a GTBank branch to reactivate my dormant account. I was asked to provide utility bill which I provided and a valid means of identification. I Had to stay in their useless queue inside the bank for like 2hours before I was reluctantly answered.
I was asked to pay any amount so as to reactivate the account. Since I was planning to get ATM card, I paid N1500 naira so as to take care of that. I was asked to come the next day to start processing the ATM card.
The next day I came, I was then told my account is not OK, that the name of the BVN attached to my account is not properly arrange, that I have to go back to reenrol for BVN or go do court affidavit in order to make my account OK and subsequently be able to process ATM card. I asked if I can withdraw the N1500 I paid earlier but to my surprise, I was told I cannot withdraw it, that my account is not OK.
This same BVN record is the same record that I have attached to my other banks from FirstBank, ZenithBank, Diamond Bank without any complain. Now, arrogant GTBank is asking me to go and re-enrol for BVN in order to allow my account to be active.

– How come my BVN was not an issue before I paid N1500 naira into the bank account?

– How come customers have to go through a lot of stress anytime they come to any branch of your nonsense bank?

– How come you have very strict, unnecessary, counter productive rules as compared to other banks(FirstBank, ZenithBank etc) that are far better than your bank?

– How come you treat your customers arrogantly and act as if they are the one that need your help?

– How much are the bank staff even paid that they have to go through this crazy working conditions?

When I calculate the amount of stress I have already undergone, and yet no clear solution in sight, I have decided to dash my N1500 I already paid into the account to GTBank, but I don’t need your useless, arrogant, stupid bank again. You can continue to treat your customers any how but I will not be among those customers. I will stick to my other banks that treats me like a king, and a customer. I need them, and they need me. Its a win-win situation.

GTB has been commended as one of the best. almost all the people I have met testified to that. I am also banking with dem, their service seems kul

Perhaps its a branch issue. GTB is usually professional.

OP am sure there is a restriction on your account,thats why your ATM card request was not treated. If the only issue you have is just the arrangement of your name,kindly get a sworn affidavit for correction of name and a regulatory ID with the correct name. Thanks

I love my GTBank! They are swift and professional! This is just one out of zero cases. It will be rectified my dear. We are humans and are bound to make errors! I can vouch for that bank! I come in and move out like air!

I just wish they can have more ATM's! I hate using other ATM's that's not my GTBank

I've been intensively using GTBank since 2011, and I've NEVER had any slight issue with them; not even for once!

Some of their staffs are untrained or undertrained. They sees themselves as if they actually the king to worship. (Ladies).
Of course , we use other banks and we know how they treat us gtb is the worse when it comes to customers service. The likes of ibtc, zenith, fidelity etc are far better and friendly. The only thing keeping gtb afloat is their wide range products that meets immediate needs in some cases not in all cases tho' Gtb beware!!!

Poo happens sometimes. GTB remains one of the best banks with qualitative service.. Bro. What's the cost of a sworn affidavit?

Anytime I've transaction with GTBank, it's a nightmare because the bank is always crowded. crowded not really because the have more customers compared with others but because they can boast of only a branch in a location where other banks have two or more branches .

This is not the banks fault.
A lot of people can't make up their minds as to which names to bear, or how their names should be arranged.
Someone will fill a form in Bank A with " Chukwudi Musa Busayo.
In bank B, you'll see 'Musa Chukwudi Busayo'
In bank C, where they enrolled for BVN, you get "Busayo Musa Chukwudi".

Bro, make up your mind na. Which is your first name, and which one is your surname?
Some people often go as far as taking over dead peoples names so they can be receiving salaries belonging to those people. Then they foolishly go and enroll for BVN in d dead person's name, neglecting their own. Then they will blame the bank for asking them to regularize.

BVN has really exposed truancy and irregularities.

Let's not even mention those that use wrong/fake date of birth.

Everybody should avoid using GTBank. Instead, use FirstBank, ZenithBank, Diamond. They will treat you well.

Yes ò UBA did worse to me on that bvn issue to the extent i almost regreted banking with them.

GT is still a gud bank but d way dey deduct moni 4rm act u go cry.

Op where do u stay? I hope it's in a place there are many branches. Please try to visit another branch so they can resolve this issue. Or u can ask to speak to their operations manager to help out
