our politics is in a mess.if we get our politics right, every other thing will fall into place.we need to vote into office people with the right ideas and policies.let's bring in youths with energy and drive.
Huuumm "youths with energy and drive"..... That's another episode.

We can vote, we have the power to vote but why is it that we don't have the power to eject? I'm still waiting for the day something like that happens.
All we ever do is,
Succumb to fate, pray to God and wait patiently till the end of the tenure.

Nigerians are the problem of Nigeria....

Its not government, its not corruption at least I know the so-called sectors in government are not administered by robots but Nigerians.
System of government determines the way the people are governed. People determines the government because they formulate policies.

The system we practice now was formulated by same people in a way corruption must strive.

Most of the regions are ready to throw away this system of government if given the chance because it was shoved down their throat by force.

Patriotism comes with identify. If I can't identify myself with a state, there will be no sense of patriotism.

That's part of it, we'd rather select based on tribes before considering merit. We have a quota system in place...

I'll post something about our electricity generation and you'll tell me what you can decode from it because I don't know the appropriate term for it, it is one of my discoveries.

That is why I said patriotism comes with identify. We should practice what England, Wales Ireland is practising then come back in 4 years time, you will not believe the development you will witness. Unitary system to me is the biggest setback...

Ok na. I will be expecting it.

America's population doubles that of Nigeria.
America generates 66% of it's electricity from Coal and Natural gas....

*Top 3 countries with coal in Africa, S/Africa, Zimbabwe and Nigeria. The first 2 countries produce coal, the last has abandoned it because of oil. The whole of Enugu state is full of untapped coal.

*Nigeria has the 9th largest natural gas reserve in the world, second largest in Africa. America has the 7th largest.

*Nigeria has spent billions of dollars finding a solution to its electricity problem, privatized, used the service of GE electric, still we don't generate electricity from coal and it seems the situation is even deteriorating.

Is this wickedness? lack of foresight or the generator cabals have their way because to me, we're not meant to have any business with blackouts.
* The world is talking about biomass, windmills and we're just quiet, are we even stagnant?

I like the fact that the only grammatical error you can find in my posts is a simple lack of apostrophe. Meanwhile it's interesting how you consistently type lower case 'i' as a complete word.

Kiungulia is heartburn in Swahili.
I do not really have the patience to change from small letters to capital letters when i type informal stuffs though it takes just a tap.i'll be crazy to do that on paper or when i type something formal.what i try to avoid is the improper use of words and expressions.so what u think is a consistent error in my posts is deliberate.all the same,i hope the anger, pride at stake and insults on this thread do not cause permanent kiungulia in some people(just joking).

What exactly do you think is Nigeria's problem? I have been discovering some things and It's just crazy.....
The major problem is our system of Government!
Like what forgiveness pointed out, regional system of government will block many obstacles of development in our society I.e tribalism, corruption, illiteracy etc.. I don't believe that youth leadership is the solution to our problem..

Atlantic Heights

Atlantis Heights is located in a tranquil corner piece of the Downtown District of Eko Atlantic City. It is a home to look forward to after a busy day. Just a block away from the Marina Boulevard, you can be guaranteed of the rest you desire. Atlantis Heights is a 75-apartment twin tower of 25-storey. The tower will stand majestically into the skyline of Eko Atlantic City.

The twin towers should be around 110- 115 meters.

When it comes Skyscrapers above 100m, South Africa takes the lead with 49 skyscrapers, Egypt comes second and Nigeria third. This is base on what is on ground already.
The fact that you think Kenya has only 14 buildings over 80m tells how misguided you are on this height stuff.

I know SA is number one, Egypt number 2 Kenya number 3. I'll list you topped out structures in Kenya with over 100m height and you list me the same in Nigeria.

1. Britam Tower 200m
2. UAP Tower 163m
3. Times Tower 140m
4. Prism Tower 134m
5. LéMac Tower
6. Teleposta Tower 120m
7. KICC 105m
8. MUPS Tower 104m
9. NSSF building 103m
10. I&M building 100m
11. KCB Tower 100m
12. Sheheena Marina Apartments 100m

Now you list Nigeria's towers (complete or topped out) over 100m before you make your ridiculous claims.

thats a classification which i am sure 1.3 billion indians have not heard about in real life ( dont know about internet though since here imagination is the limit huh grin )

rich man from poor background ?
approx 80% of indian millionaires r from poor background and nobody is complaining except u grin

a humble advice in good faith from me
there is too must shiit / misinformation in the internet , dont get drowned in it.

Like the hsbc advert says,'local intelligence is important'.Only a nigerian can understand Nigeria.A senator once suggested that senate proceedings be done in the 3 major languages. The senators from smaller tribes shouted 'blue murder'.But each major tribe still takes its language very seriously.Naija is complex and diverse. The only swahili i know is 'kiungulia.'
Swahili was already the lingua franca of East Africa for several centuries before colonialism. It was a language of trade. Its use also doesn't signify ethnic domination by the native Swahili speakers (who have a very tiny population in % terms ). Its use is comparable to what English does today in most parts of the world or what Latin did in European classical times, or what Hindi and Mandarin do in India and China respectively. If the senators couldn't agree, is there a special reason they cannot adopt a language like kiswahili? It bothers me when you bump into nigerians living in Kenya who have to go through the day speaking in English to local kenyans (who though we understand. it, do not use it every single minute, and it immediately identifies you as alien) ,and some even try to use pidgin here, i have seen it with my own eyes. Many feel no need to teach themselves simple phrases that could help them get served a cup of tea or a glass of water and in my opinion that is perfect testament as to the state of one's mind towards the locals-disdain.
I think in this regard(having a common tongue spoken by everyone ), you Nigerians have alot to learn from us.

LAWD!!
That picture shows NUMBER of fibre optics in Africa.
70% of the fibre optics in West Africa are owned by SOUTH AFRICANS with only a few like the Glo-1 one being in the hands of West Africans.
Who doesn't know of the dramas of SAT-3??
By capacity, the Fibre optics with the Highest capacity on the continent is EASSy!!(The East African Submarine system)
At 10 terabit per second!!!
http://www.eassy.org/about.html
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EASSy
From your Nigerian communications week the capacity of Nigerian offshore fibre optics are:
1. Glo-1 2.5 tbit/s (640Gbits/s in use)
2. Main One 1.28Tb/s;
3. WACS 3.84Tb/s;
4. SAT-3 340Gbit/s(Jeez!)
http://www.nigeriacommunicationsweek.com.ng/taxonomy/term/2608

Kenya has the following
1.TEAMS 1.2. Tbits/s(120 Gbits/s in use)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TEAMS_(cable_system)
I like to emphasize on this one as despite its relatively low capacity, it is the only Fibre optic that has Government shareholding directly(indirectly it still has through Safaricom and Telkom Kenya) on the continent. It is also by far the cheapest one.
Can you show may any offshore fibre optic that sells bandwidth at less than $4 per MB in Africa??Anyone?? it is why residential broadband is so cheap in Kenya!!!
Our Government made sure that Kenya got fast and cheap internet access through TEAMS!!

2. EASSy 10 Tbits/s(1.4 Tbit/s in use)http://www.eassy.org/(Currently the cable with the highest bandwidth capacity on the continent by faaaar!!)
Even your map shows the bandwidth in use

3.SEACOM 2.6 Tbits/s(Shareholders currently upgrading the system to 12Tbit/s)
http://mybroadband.co.za/news/broadband/102039-seacom-capacity-increase-to-12tbps.html

4. LION-2 1.28 Tbit/s (This one is for Mombasa city mind you being connected to the Indian Ocean territories. 1.2 Tbit/s is a lot for one city!! As Lion-2 currently has only Mombasa based ISPs as its customers)
https://www.telegeography.com/products/commsupdate/articles/2010/09/24/lion2-planned-for-indian-ocean/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LION_(cable_system)
This is the real concrete info keeping me here not the monotonous 3d renders of Lebanese owned Eko! Btw,Naijjas why can't you accept such obvious developments like this ICT speed?
Do you see how it ties in with our telcom value chain?
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by obaaderemi: 8:21am On Dec 25, 2016
@MtuMsuper..those senators will not adopt swahili for the same reason they wouldn't adopt any of the major nigerian languages. Each of the three major tribes sees itself as a nation. The entire north speaks hausa inspite of the fact that many of the tribes in the north are not even hausas.Hausa in northern Nigeria is like swahili in kenya because the population of northern nigeria is over 40million.If the north should split from Nigeria, the official language would be hausa;same goes for the other tribes. In that case, english will no longer be as important as it is now.The fallout of colonialism is a big headache across Africa.
