The discovery of coal deposits in commercial quantity in Sokoto State is a very welcome development, because if a Federal cabal has been avoiding coal exploitation in Enugu to marginalize the Igbo, they will now find it harder to do so.I must commend Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal for already planning the construction of a 40mw coal-fired power station to exploit the coal.

Don't believe this people...nothing was found in commercial quantity. Its just a plow to make a case for ONE NIGERIA...They would say since Enugu and Sokoto has coal, what's the need of separating the country? Same with Lagos...has no oil. All are shenanigans to continue ONE NIGERIA.

Honesty, its too early for this..Don't draw a time table for events that has its destiny on nature and science. Who told you the discovery is a "PLOW". Y cant u aslo tell us its a gangue mineral? Plus, u could as well give us the picture of the site so as to butress your point.
The Enugu coal mining was halted by the administration of Olusegun Obasnnjo in the 70s when he privatized the Nigeria Coal Corporation ( NCC) as a result of lost of British and Polish expatriate who had returned to their nation because of the civil war..Thereafter, crude oil was discovered in commercial quantity and the coal story became a tale in Nigeria.. Tribalism aside, until we have a science & technology inclined govt, even the sokoto discovery will be tales by the moonlight
