On both Occassions Alli is attacking Azpilicueta. Alli is taller than Azpi and better in the air. If Cahill stays compact then he can take Kane and Luiz takes Alli....but Cahill clearly feels he can't trust Alonso so he steps up, Luiz is forced to follow 6'4 Kane about and hope that Azpi can deal with Alli.

If Alonso could be trusted, none of that happens. Stop the cross, stop thr goal. Pedro is now playing left back because Alonso's ineptitude has been glaring.

Poch just outwit Conte in the battle of tactics.

Poch decides to play 3 at the back just like Conte. He controls possession with Dembele, and Erickson, while saturating the middle. This forces Chelsea's midfielders to defend, he does not attempt to build from the middle, rather he moved the ball from side to side, relegating the importance of the saturated middle.

Two things actually.

1. Watch the defense line and you see Moses not stepping inside with the defensive line to keep Dele offside. If Moses was alert, there's no goal. There's no use just blaming Alonso.

2. It's a tactic to pick out Dele, because Spurs know that Dele can out-jump Pili and Moses. Unfortunately, we didn't see that coming. We planned to cancel Kane from the game.

It's football. These things happen. We still lead the league and we don't play them again.
