The Federal Government seems to have increased electricity tarrif nationwide. The increment in tariff is by almost 50% as confirmed by the meter units purchased from Benin Electricity Distribution Company this morning.
One of the staff of the BEDC spoken with confirmed the increment took effect on the 1st of January this year.
The new tarrif is now #31.27/unit .It used to be sold at #24.80k/unit.
It is surprising this was done without public knowledge.

Theses are private companies. Federal govt can not raise tariff for them.

Have you heard of MYTO- 2015? Its not new, it came with the increase of last year. Check out the document attached.

kindly pay attention to page 10 of the document. You'll see the tariff for 2017 there for different categories of customers.
