I've been at home since i lost my job as deputy accountant with a group firm. Nothing to do, nothing to enjoy. No light all day. can't buy fuel 150 for gen. I'm thinking of too many negative things right now. I'm more than frustrated. I'm so unhappy.

let me tell u guz a little story. Nigeria sucks no matter how anyone tries to paint it, that there is hope. They will say do business and be self employed, but the truth is were do you get money for the business, Without the bank asking you to bring your collateral which you don't even have? You are told that there is government jobs out there, if you apply sorry is your case if you don't know anyone. what about the private sector? the government will so milk them dry with tax payment that they can hardly survive and hence all their frustration is on the vulnerable nigerian massive unemployed youths.
The answer to this rubbish is to leave this stupid country with this stupid set of leaders in all level pf governance to another country to start life afresh.

Or have u forgotten the country u are in and the situation on ground?
I know somebody that lost his job since July, this guy is an engineer well experienced engineer, despite all CVS and proposals to companies, he has not gotten anything till today.
Will u tell that kind of person to go leave the house?
Unless leaving the house for u means standing under bridge to collect owoda

This Government is not oriented to see this happening. Until dogs start eating dogs in Aso Villas, now, it's like flogging a dead horse or speaking to a wall expecting answer. Please where are you and your State? Perhaps we can contact your Government to organize small farm land and working capital to get you and more like you going.

Which way now Nigeria...

If things continue like this I see imminent revolution..

2 day no light even if there is it does not last for more than 2 hours a day

Price of commodities is sky rocketing

Price of fuel is high

Naira keeps obeying theory of gravity against dollar

What is your tribe? If you are SE or SS, I'll empathize with you but if you are Afonja and not the type of Fayose and Fani Kayode, I'll insult you on top of you problem because you guys support this evil country that is suffering and killing people everyday yet you complain that things are not going right for you.

Op,
I sympathise with your situation. You have to make a promise to yourself now. The promise is that you will train your children to be more equipped, more prepared and more successful than you are. By training I mean giving them curricular training (academic) as well artisan training (trade) so if this cycle were ever to repeat they would not be frustrated and in a vulnerable position. Our parents did not do that for us, otherwise most of us will not complain of no income if a professional job terminate us....we just switch to the trade career.

Have patience and find anything, however minimal in income until something more meaningful come along.

This is the most senseless and ridiculous answer so far.
Haven't you heard of obasanjo farm, the man stole and invested biillions in farming cant even feed ogun state talkless.
Anything short of mechanised farming in.this day and age is a fruitless effort.

You have spoken well.

I don't know the profession most people here have but I don't also think the years of experience garnered is a waste. Those knowledge can be transformed into something worthwhile.

Has anyone here tried to see if there is any company they could freelance for with knowledge and experience they have? For most companies now... freelancing offers them cheaper options for skills not readily available within their employ.

Please, there is a way out.

Most of us don't even know the power of the internet and how to use it to enrich ourselves. Do a google search around your expertise and see if there is a need for it at freelance sites.

Don't just discard what I have just said please... I am someone who always believe there is a way.

Thank you lord for my sister. Everyone is complaining of recession but it is in this recession she got her highest paying job so far. She lost her job few months ago but since then she's been getting jobs until she just got this high paying job last week.

I pray that God will also locate all of you and give you jobs in Jesus Name.

Bro I would advice you to commit suicide if you can't be positive for yourself and find happiness in the little things around you.

And to those undergraduates reading, better start developing a pet project that will enable you effectively counter the event of a jobless situation.

And to those secretly planning to commit suicide because of frustration, don't just die for nothing the same way you've lived. Find a strategic spot like in FCT for example and light up the human torch. History shows it could trigger the next revolution in Africa and you will be remembered as a true hero.
